I personally don't believe in running a stock map without having it retuned to your mods to get the most of out a kit within safety margins. That's also why I don't believe in mail-in reflashes either. There is way too many factors. Sure, you can make one safe map for everyone but I don't think you'll get the most out of your investment unless your car is otherwise bone stock.
I find that hard to believe. First of all there is nothing stock about the maps post reflash. Second there was a recent thread in the Engine Forum of a member who "mailed in" his flash for his mods and gained a good amount of HP to the wheels. I believe post flash he made 295 RWHP on N/A mods.

oh I believe that.. I'm sure you will gain hp, not saying mail-in flash isn't worth it.

I'm just saying NOTHING beats dyno tuning, even for the same exact mods. Each car is different.

For NA, the difference between mail-in and dyno-tuning may not be that big if you only have basic bolt-ons. But turbo kits are FAR from being basic bolt-ons so I'd think the difference would be much bigger for different cars in different climates. You can always make ONE safe map that works for everyone, that doesn't mean it provides the best performance for your expensive turbo kit you bolted on an originally NA engine.

To an extent I can agree. However dyno tuning can become expensive and time consuming on the end user. Furthermore there are potential dangers to dyno tuning to the edge. An incorrect timing entry can cause motor failure, etc. The cost of dyno tuning also makes it rather prohibitive. At the going rate of $125/hr to tune the final bill can be quite expensive. And that of course is if you have a dyno shop near you that can do the work. If not you the consumer are stuck trying to find a shop that is both reputable and capable of doing the work. A reflash takes the guesswork, cost, and legwork out of the deal. Not to mention the reflash as it comes is not just tested to the 8 PSI this kit runs out of the box but has been safely tested up to 9.5 PSI and even then was far from knocking. As I'm sure you know dyno tuning can take hours and hours to get perfect. Thats one more cost I would not want to incur after an already expensive investment.

Can turbonetics custom tune for 6 PSI or will my car run RICH after MAX boost which I assume they will be able to prelimit on there wastegate or a custom one added to the kit durring shipping....

And if I dyno the car and send them the A/F ratios after install will they restructure the flash for FREE....

Since of course they are the only ones that can do it....

And what are the effects of running on a higher octane then originally tuned for... say 91 tune but fueling with 94???

I'm sure Turbonetics can do that for you... I'll call Brad and see what he says.

There are no UNI-Chip tuners in HAWAII so the safer bet is the TURBONETICS kit with an extra Oil pan and CAS wire..... Im just a little concerned about the fuel tunning issue**IF REQURIED**......because of my extra modifications....

Would you order directly from TURBONETICS or do they use dealers and has it been discussed the addition of these parts mentioned above and would they offer a discount????

Another thing if you added a return fuel system... would the ECU flash compensate for this or would you have to guess the fuel pressure settings????

And what additional components are required (besides whats included in the TURBONETICS) to have a fuel return system....

No you would order from a vendor... As for the tune... No ECU or piggyback is going to automatically adjust for a fuel return system. If you wanted to add a fuel return system what you would do is set the base fuel pressure to 53 PSI and have the regulator (hopefully you get a 1:1 rising rate regulator) set to increase 1 psi of fuel for every 1 psi of boost. The AAM for CJ Motorsports fuel kits are perfect for this. Any decent shop can set this up for you as well. As for the tune when you send your ECU to Turbonetics you would need to annotate on the ECU that you want it set for 6 PSI and they can modify the tune accordingly.
