Turbonetics Kit
I think what MIA and others are concerened are about this... PARDON MY CHEESY DRAWING...
As you can see from the image, just by taking a picture of the view of the car and what doesn't appear on the image doesn't mean it will not come in contact. Bumps, even debri's on the road are very dangerous... A friend of mine got a hole threw his oil pan by hitting a rock at 75mph. Rocks jump and also other debri like bent pipes, etc... As you can see from the picture the bump is shaped in an angle where it would hit the turbo or say even if their was an L shape pipe on the floor. Its the little things that you need to worry. Your looking at it from a perfect angle, and if you know a lot about turbo's than you must know about a HONDA B16, well I had turbo (greddy) and got plenty of debri that hit the turbo. And do you know how FAR AWAY it is, it litereally sits inside the engine bay, I highly doubt your "stress" tests even come close to California road (U HAVE NO IDEA). I love APS TT kit, and I def looking forward to your single turbo kit as well. I never was a fan of having the turbon mounted in the engine bay, I think its a HUGE NO NO... But I don't want to see you guys fail either.. So consider this as a positive post not negative...

Actually, I think it's already been mentioned that the turbo will include shielding of some sort, let's just wait for the final production design to see if it's protected.
When the final pics come DO out I'm betting the turbo is higher than it appears now. (Maybe they don't take better pics to hide some design element such as pipe routing)
When is the final design going to be out APS? We'd like to see the finished location!

Who's the guy in the window?

The following pictures are taken to show the true height of components as viewed from the front and from the rear. It's hard to get the camera in the right position but it's the best I can do - though it does show clearly that the turbocharger is not visible from either angle, meaning that it really is tucked up and out of harm's way.
For you to see the turbo it means that I have to take a snail's eye view from down low - looking up into the cavity formed between the front cross member and the LH rail - that were the original pictures of the APS Intercooled Turbo system posted by Mia.
Hope this helps.

Shooooot... that ain't all that low!
My only concern now is getting the turbo wet/submerging it... oh and of course saving my pennies to buy it!
Since you're down there taking pics how about some shots of the pipe routing (if you have an engine stand shot that would be gnarly!)???

Regardless, fierce technical competition makes for a better and more complete product - the consumer benefits. It's also great forums like this that gives everyone the opportunity to discuss, ask questions and raise issues for clarification - again the consumer benefits.
It does mean a lot more work for the people behind the products but hey, that's all part and parcel of participating in this industry.
Thanks though for your kind words Wicked4u2c.

Okay.....I'm satisfied. Based on the fact that the car is not my daily driver, it rarely floods in Las Vegas (my Z has never seen rain), and the roads are pretty good here, I'm not going to worry about it any more. I'd just like to get a fairly reliable 400 WHP in my car by the summer and the APS system seems like the best choice for me.
