I don't think I would go any higher than say 430whp. Its so hard to put anymore power to use from a stop. If you are always in 2nd or 3rd then its ok but that much power is just crazy. With 440 its an art to try and apply all that power from a take off. But its sooo fun!

How many of you APS owners go regulary go to the track and run under extreme conditions? That's really were the wear and tear comes in not in daily driving.
I am very interested in those results also since there is no boost controller and so no way to tune for traction I am very interested how you handle launches since it's tough enough to get traction on a stock z during launch I can only imagine how hard it is when launching at 420 whp.

The more I research, the more impressed I am with APS. I may not be able to wait for the single turbo. Drove a C6 yesterday.....gotta have more power soon.

On a related note, is the APS TT kit tuned for a stock car out-of-the-box? Or does it assume one has replaced the exhaust or plenum or something else?

Thanks!

It's tuned for whatever grade of gasoline you have in your particular area, mods like you listed don't really matter.

I emailed David from APS and asked him if I can install this kit without getting it tuned. He asked me where I live, which rating gasoline I will be using and what mods I have. Also build date of car. After I told him all that, he said I will be fine and do not need to get it tuned...just plug and play.

So does that mean that they have a different tuning for different mod combinations? Or do they simply have a tuning for octane (91 vs 93)? Also, are the ULEV2 cars (2004.5+) different?

Thanks!

The kit is not tuned for a plenum. You would need unichip set up for a plenumor u may run lean.

Are there any negative consequences of running 93 octane fuel on the 91 octane map?

Eddie: nah, it would just give you a better margin of safety if anything, as far as I know.

Wow, they let you drive it.....I went to test drive one and they would not let me. They wanted to talk price and make the sale first and then once I agreed to buy it I could drive. I told them to *** off, got back in my G and purchased a vortech. Now the car is back in the shop to swap out the s/c for a greddy tt. I would have gone with APS but no tuners in fl.

No problem with the test drive....in fact I was with a friend, and they let us take the car without a salesman (only 2 seats). I've bought two Vettes from them before, however, so they know I'm for real.

It's a very fast car...rides and handles much better than the Z. Styling sucks, IMHO. The upcoming Z06 looks a little better. Right now, I think I'd just rather drop some FI in the Z, but APS doesn't have a decent dealer anywhere close to me. Maybe I should look at that Vette brochure again.......

I think the vette looks great but that's IMO. Anyway, with stock boost from the APS TT, test pipes, and a nice exhaust you should be at 415-425rwhp on 93 octane. You will have no problems keeping up and killing the C6. You can buy the kit from Tuan at grdperformance and he will tune and ship it to you. I am sure with a year or so they will be more unichip tuners. Any performance shop that knows what they are doing can do the install.

I don't like the rear of the Vette...it seems blunt and chopped off. But I agree with everything else you said. The problem is I haven't found a tuner shop in Vegas that I would dare trust with my car.
