Vortech on a 5AT?
Guys, I am thinking of going the Vortech S/C way, but I have a 5AT...can I go with the S/C? If so, is there anything I should be concerned more of since I have an AT rather than a MT? What I have found by searching has been rather inconclusive on this topic so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
There is absolutely no problem for running f/I with auto (as long as it fits) except one..........
You will not be able to go wide open throttle in auto mode without hitting the rev-limiter unless some other ????? mods are done; it shifts just fine in manual mode....
Incidentally the 5sp auto in the Z is the same one (except for different ratios) as the Nissan Titan and Armadaboth of which weigh more than 5000lbs and are rated at 9000lbs towing capacity.....
I don't think this tranny is flimsy by any means...
you WILL want to do a valve body upgrade to minimize slippage and extra wear on the friction surfaces in the tranny...

Over 7000 miles with NO problems with Vortech SC on 5AT. During install, did send ECU to Technosquare and had them do "Limited Flash". "Limited Flash" increased rev limit, removed speed limit and increased throttle from 85% to 100%. To find out more about "Limited Flash" visit: www.technosquareinc.com
