convert "blue" emanage to "gold"
hey - i found this while browsing the nasioc forum (subaru forum) trying to help my friend decide what he should do for engine management, and thought some of you with the e-manage might find this interesting.
Well the inevitable has happened. For those of you that use the emanage, you may have heard about a "gold" version that was released in Taiwan + Japan that included WB02 logging ability, volumetric efficiecy calculations, and a NEW MAP!
The new map is a Acceration enrichment map which provides extra fueling when the throttle is moved quickly causing a surge of boost. Typically you see this kind of map in standalone systems but since the emanage has the ability to add pulsewidth to the injectors, it can easily add this function as well.
This new map is awesome!! My RSt goes dangerously lean during shifts due to the stock computer not having suficcient acceleration enrichment to cope with my instantly spooling T3. I suspect it is less of a problem with larger turbos, but with the T3 spool can be very very quick.
In the new map you input "gain" which probobly amounts to some increase in PWM to the injectors. You can map this gain in 3D over a 8x8 table (%throttle Pump / RPM)
US language files have just been released such that you can now convert your blue emanage to a gold emanage, update the emanage to the new firmware, and use the new map and features!!
Someone who did it:

- he claims that it does autotuning - but I think he's wrong.
- The best part about it is the new control map

Have Fun!!!!!!!

well guys I have just successfully completed this so it can be done. I havent had a chance to do any road tuning with the new accelleration map as of yet but it should be awesome!!
there are some quick shorts you need to make on the circuit board, but for those of us that installed our own emanage that stuff is small time by now.

I've heard about this gold version of the eManage for a few months now. It has some much improved functionality, and does take a Wideband O2 input. That's about all I know at this point. I suspect at some point, they will release it formally in the USA.
Looks very promising. I've always said that the eManage is the next best thing to a standalone ECU.
And the eManage keeps getting better!

Also I am not saying it is not for tuning I just have not looked into what they have done so I am not sure.
