Post Twin Turbo 350Z in Destin, FL

Just a quick post to profile a new twin turbo 350Z; this one on the white sandy beaches of Destin in the Northwest Florida Panhandle owned by Joey Hamilton.

The profile for this car can be seen at http://www.rollincarcustoms.com/customers.aspx?id=11, which has a complete list of upgrades, a full image gallery, and video files. The owner isn't too forum savvy and doesn't browse too much. However, being a typical Z car owner (generally quite community oriented), he wanted to show his car to other 350Z owners and see what people thought.

The twin turbo installation was recently completed, along with a number of other modifications. We took quite a few photos of the installation itself, which are available for viewing as well by clicking the "in progress" image (or by clicking here). The photos being displayed on the main gallery page are kind of a "work in progress" series, as the bodykit and paint work haven't been completed yet. In the photos, only the front bumper is on, but we have side skirts and a rear underspoiler as well; however, the owner is contemplating changing to a different exterior setup so we'll see what happens. We are also fabricating a few interior panels that will hold the turbo timer and boost controller which are currently hidden inside the dash console compartment pro tempore.

Current goals for this 350Z were for the 375-400 mark, however, the owner is now contemplating something closer to 550-600. Possibly future plans for this car are to R&R the engine with a fully built VQ35. We currently are in the process of building such an engine, which will be retailed out if he decides to wait. This build will consist of (but is not limited to) block work, pistons, rods, rings, pins, head work, o/s valves, etc and will allow for a much higher amount of operating boost.

As soon as the uncompleted mods have been installed/fabricated, we will update the gallery and post some video files as well. Your comments are warranted and welcomed. Any questions will be answered to the best of our ability with respect to the owner. At the same time, however, being that we are not a paying sponsor of this site, our comments and statements remain somewhat restricted so as not to "step on anyones toes"...

Note: All upgrades on this vehicle were purchased from Rollin Car Customs by the vehicle owner, Joey Hamilton of Exographix without a sponsorship position. All installation and fabrication performed solely by the crew at Rollin Car Customs. Rollin Car Customs is an authorized retailer for all products purchased for and installed on this vehicle. All media files for this vehicle copyright Rollin Car Customs, Inc.

No, not yet. We're actually contemplating opening a second shop in our local area, but no moves have been made thus far. Where are you located? We're right in-between Pensacola and Panama City in a "town" called Fort Walton Beach; been around for a number of years.

For anyone who hasn't ever been to a beach in northern Florida, check out this little gallery of photos we took.

And that's sand, snow white sand as far down the coast as the eye can see.

She looks like a smiley baby that just stole some birthday cake.

Just kidding, but you gotta do something about that front bumper.

The gauge setup on the inside looks really nice.

Some may ask the same question reversed... Why ask why.

PE is a very good company, with very good support, using very good components and producing very good results. With IHI turbos (same turbo manufacturer of the stock high horsepower Subaru STi), insanely responsive custom interal wastegates, and every single nut and bolt (down to heat wrap and zip ties) needed to complete the install in a timely manner with exceptional results, why not choose PE?

Moreover, PE is well known overseas, being around for nearly 10 years. The President of PE has been involved with modifying since designing the B6 motor for Mazda and has published a number of books on engine design and tuning, along with many other accomplishments. We're talking about reputation and reliability through history, not a company that is up and coming.

This isn't to say that APS or any other company isn't backed by this kind of solidity, but that PE is by far a very good company with a great background and who's to say that one kit is better than another because of a price tag. Ok, so someone said PE this or APS that, yada yada yada.. It all comes down to preference, security, and satisfaction in the end. In fact, to futher accomidate customers, we inquired with APS quite some time ago about becoming a regional dealer for their products, however no response was ever received...

By no means is this a defensive post, but more of an informative post. I personally am on this board a lot, and so are quite a few of our staff members. However, we are involved with the products discussed on this board and those like it on a different level than the consumer. I guess that's what makes posts like the one you made difficult to understand.

Very nice. Might have to stop by the shop if I am in the area. Maybe to help install a turbo later. Very nice cars on the Site. Blue one against r6. Nice!

LOL, nice comments, he's going to flip when he reads this thread!

For these photos, only the front bumper is on, but we have the side skirts and rear underspoiler as well.

The reason everything hasn't been painted and installed is because that the owner is thinking about changing to a sort of a mix-n-match bodykit setup instead of going with his original choice.

So until he decides what he wants, we aren't going to proceed with paint... It'll only be a matter of time before it's complete.

For sure, anytime. We're open Mon-Fri 10-6 and Sat. 10-Till... We've got a small shop compared to some, but we're in the market for some real estate and hopefully we'll be moving to a larger location by mid-year. Still though, it's about 2000 sq. ft. and we've got a good bit of inventory on hand (including one of if not the only PE TT kit in the US at this time).

Thanks for checking out the site, that blue one is sweet isn't it! He's on this board also, goes by "slay2k" I believe.
