It was on a dynojet...the equation that most knowledgeable shops use here is subtracting 18-23% for a naturallu aspirated car... forced induction should not be such a large loss--please chime in if you have some better way to calculate actual power in a turboed car at 5500ft altitude

i agree that the 520rwhp is probably preety close to actual...and le tme tell ya....whoa!!!!

Just looked at the chart again....holy crap you are running lean

12.5:1 to 13:1 on 91 pump gas is extremely lean. You should be closer to 11.0:1 to 11.5:1 to be safe on 91 octane at that altitude. Be careful

i assure you..the graph is deceptive if those are the numbers you got from it...the A/F on that run was below 12:1...didn't see 12 at all actually...the entire A/F curve was right around 11.5:1 the entire time, dipping up and down .5 throughout...

This is true..but not to take away from Todd numbers....there are GREAT for 16psi on pump gas.

Todd, based on that graph, I think you are experiecing the same issue I have, in that power begins to level off at around 5500rpm. With a cam, and maybe some additional head work/upgraded plenum, I have no doubt you can add 50whp to that number.

holy crap... awesome man... thats what im shooting for 600WHP...
Im so happy to hear that you accomplished that at 16 pounds... thats what i was wondering.

Im going to have all kinds of goodies for the heads, so ill have more flow, and im going to get something.. maybe the AAM plenum spacer... it wont be done for a while... im doing most of the stuff myself... besides the engine build... SGP did that... supposedly my engine should be shipped back to me today or tomorrow.

I was hoping to put in as many NA mods as I could to keep the boost as low as possible. It would be great if I could get the boost down to 15 or 14 pounds... (1 bar) and achieve 600WHP... that would keep some stress of some of my parts..

Congrats again... youre making me even more excited to get this done!!

hahahahah WHEN does it end?!?!?!?!?

sharif: this is soooooo much power...i think i am done for awhile here....gimme a year to get used to this (if that will ever happen)...maybe i will go crazy with head work...but for right now...this is already faster than i imagined!

Exactly, and a terrific point. The idea should be to extract as much safe power out of the car, at a given boost level, via perfect tuning, and good flow into and out of the combustion chamber, rather than cranking up the boost for more power. Your engine will be happier as a result.

I remember TIM ALLEN remarking in an interview once that after driving his 1996 500 horsepower Chevy Impala SS around, that he was convinced that anything more than 500 horsepower would be too much (for the street).

Those are awesome #'s.
One question, are you going to stick with those injectors?
The reason I ask is I thought the injectors should be maxed at 80%.
92% is kind of topping them out right?

Next upgrade --rear axles

There is no real compensation for altitude on turboed car because wastegate controls read absolute pressure. You just make the boost later and intercooler is less effective.
That is why turbo cars kill n/a cars at higher altitudes.

Nice numbers. Congrats. Any chance you can share the non corrected numbers? Just curious to see what those look like.
