Default FI and fuel level

I went to my gas station today and filled her up but when I started my car, it only showed 3/4 full.

Is this normal or is the needle not reading right ?

It does happen....sometimes it takes some time to register....but there is a TSB out for fuel gauge problems from Nissan. Did you have a 255 lph fuel pump installed with your TT kit?? If you did maybe they bent the float arm...they are pretty fragile.

Yeah, they installed the Walbro pump also, I'll have them check it.

I also get some white smoke out of the exhaust but rarely, I should I be concerned ?

Thanks !

Never had the problem but others that have attributed the problem to the design of the fuel tank. If I remember correctly it is two tank design with a fill line between the two. At times the fill line may have a high enough pressure to prevent a complete fill?

The tank is still a single tank but it has a hump in the middle to go over the driveshaft tunnel...they are attached by an air passage and fuel can slosh back and forth over the hump. The fuel pump assembly is in the passenger side of the tank and does siphon fuel from the driver side over the hump into the passenger side of the tank to feed the motor. There are 2 fuel level sensors though...one for each side. The inputs for each sensor are evaluated by the ecu to give you a fuel gauge reading. If you have an issue with either of the sensors of course then half the input is missing and you will get an inaccurate reading on your dash gauge.

What is the air passage for? The upper portion of the tank is full of air/gas vapors.

Think of the tank as a rectangle that gets pressed down onto the driveshaft..it makes a hump in the center over the shaft but is still flat at the top so there is still a few inches over the hump. Air and fuel can slosh back and forth over the hump from 1 side of the tank to the other.
