Shop installed the wires today. Heres what happened...

After the installation, we tried to start the car...
1st crank, it started, but stalled right away..
2nd attempt, same. Started, but would stall.
3rd try, started, gave gas to prevent it from stalling, let out gas and the car idles perfect. Turned off the car...
4th try, started, car wants to die again...gave gas, let it idle..perfect.

Drove it around the block for 5 mins, drives fine. Went back to the shop to double check on the wiring. Got out the service manual to see if we have the correct pins...we did. Weird. So the tech told me to give it a last try before we put back the factory wire...

...starts...NO STALLING! Idles perfect.
Turned off, start, no problem. Repeated that for a couple of times, even with the AC on, no problem..Weird...so I guess Im okay then?

Was that normal?

Less than an hour, about 30-45 mins.

This is probably your car relearning since you had the ECU disconnected long enough to clear its memory. Especially if you have a lightweight flywheel. Its impossible for it be related to the cable, since if its wired correctly the car will never know the difference.

Yeah that happened to me when I had the TT installed the first time. Just once, but it was a few days after the install & it never happened again...Now after the install of the CAS it happens after the initial start up... after I shut it off..in other words at first crank it turns on fine & idles fine but when I turn it off then try to turn it back on I have to give it gas so the car won't turn off...but I know it isn't the crank wire...because the LED on the e-manage is blinking..It blinks twice maybe for .5 to 1 sec apart, then pauses for about 2-4 sec. the blinks twice again but quicker than the first time the same pattern but other than that the car feels fine. I am going back in the ECU to make sure emanage is wired up correctly....the wierd thing is that I remember that I had the LED blinking when my TT was first installed but I do not remember the pattern but after a few weeks it went away and I had a steady green LED...
Any suggestions anyone??????
I posted a thread on it and someone suggested I check the #2 inj wiring..code error 22..

Default *update*

After letting it sit over night, I went out this morning to start the car.
It starts normal with no idle/stalling problem.

Can someone link me to the thread explaining the benefits of this CAS? I am going for an HKS Supercharged setup, is this something I should consider?

My brother has the HKS set up on his ZRoadster..been had it for about 5-6 months..without the CAS wire...but I guess when I got my CAS (TT set up) it got him thinking & he is installing it next week. FYI he nor I has heard of any problems with the HKS blowing the engines...I guess for peace of mind it's worth it though.

Alright, Thanks for the input! Why is it that the OEM CAS wire isn't sufficient for high boost setups?

i personally think its probably just fine, i havent upgraded mine yet. However I have some occasional glitches under extreme abuse and I am wondering if installing it might correct them, we will see... but to date my car has always been on stock CAS wire.

Phunk or GQ,
I haven't been involved in the board for several weeks now, but I see that the CAS wire group buy should have shipped out to everyone by now. I was part of the group buy, but never received mine. Can you guys PM me? Thanks.

i posted to that thread.

so far more than half of the people who have contacted me with a problem ended up finding that the install was not correct and after correcting the install everything was perfect. the other half havent tried again or havent got back to me. To date I have not had a single defective unit.

for future reference, when one of you is having a problem, please check the install by verifying that its wired to the correct 3 pins at the ECU, and if it is, then check for continuity of all 3 wires... until that is done there is really no help I can offer.

the product is an extremely basic install that consists of hooking up 3 wires at the ECU and then plugging in the other end... there is very little room for error in the assembly of the parts, and install is where almost every problem will occur.

Of course, if someone does have a problem with the actual component itself, I would GLADLY refund or replace... but I need everyone to check everything before contacting me otherwise all I can tell you is to check on it.
