$2600 to be exact for Pauter Rods, Arias Pistons, ARP Head and Main Stud Kit, Gaskets, and Rear Seals. It will be $2000 if you do just the forged internals install by itself... but say if you were installn a TT kit, iam guessing would only be like $500 more while they are installing the TT kit.

You are forgetting the cost of sending the block to a machine shop to have it bored to match the new pistons, and do you know how to built a motor?? I sure as hell don't trust myself completely building a complex motor like the VQ35DE, so factor in LABOR cost for 95% of the people out there.

Ya forgot about that... like i said i had no idea how much exactly labor was going to be... and it is much to hard to say, cause some shops charge different per hour rates... like mine only charges 55.. where as some charge 100... so my labor can be twice as cheap as someone elses...

I'll tell you one thing....it definitely isnt gonna be $500 even if you do pull the motor out for the TT install. Thats just the beginning. Your looking over a grand easy by the end.....probably around $1500-$2000 to be exact. Its not a small sum of money. If it was less than 3 grand or even close to it for that matter, I'd do it too...

I was quoted 2000 for install of my TT... so i was just estimating another $500 to dig into the motor and install the new parts, but i really didnt know... just a rough estimate.

No worries...I was actually in your same situation and thought it wouldn't really be all that much either, since they were pulling out the motor as it was. As it turns out there is sooo much that goes into doing this (machining, honing, etc.). Messing with the internals is not something your average person can check on a daily basis either. It has to be done in a shop with the proper tools, so many extra precautions are taken and patience is needed. In other words its not like checking and changing you oil so it needs to be done right the first time and by highly qualified pros.... Bc of that entire process I decided to go APS single turbo as the twins would be of no use to me since I have no plans on building the engine....

So you are saying even after takeing the engine out and all that for a TT install... it would be 2grand to install the internals? thats how much it would be like if i already had the TT installed... and i later wanted to install internals.

I was quoted 3 grand for install of internals if i wanted to do it from scratch...If you do it when the turbo is being put on..you'd only save money on taking the engine out (anywhere from 500-1000). Its a tedious job and needs to be done properly....

Damn ill ask my local shop tomorrow how much they would charge... if its 2grand just for internals as well.. iam just gonna buy the APS TT, then later along the road buy the pistons, rods, and all other goodys... even though technically my uncle has been building race cars for like over 20years... and could do this job easly... Idk, id like to have the insurance of a shop that has already done this exact job.

Lol would you go with him to install everything? The APS TT kit would be a no brainer for him... but iam worried about the internals... and with the pistons i would have to get it shaved.. and he cant do that i dont think.

It would still be nice to have someone in case something does go wrong...especially someone you can count on in the family...well at least if your on good terms. I know building your engine is supposed to provide security, but I'd feel weird knowing my engine has been ripped apart and put back together by someone other than Nissan. Know what I mean? I'd rather leave everything the way it is from the factory and just add to it even if its not the best solution. Thats why APS fits my bill...made perfect sense to me and they still have a bulletproof record so ill take my chances.

Well i wouldnt even have nissan install my turbo or internals.. i would drop it off at Dynocomp, vivid racing, or intense motorsports.
Probably leaning towards dynocomp since they are giving me a hell of a deal on the APS TT.... iam not sure though... i could just go cheap on the TT install.. have my uncle do it... then save up for the internals.. then have dynocomp or some1 else install the internals. Who knows.. gonna check prices tomorrow and i will decide... either way i dont have nearly enough right now... so better start saving.

Agreed....I dont ever want to deal with Nissan when it comes to issues with my car. I wouldnt even consider having them install the turbo. Tuan at GRD will be tuning and installing my turbo....
