inline fuel pump
#25
if youre going to run a combination of the stock fuel tank and an external surge tank in a 350z/g35, do yourself a favor and do not plumb the lines anything like that chart posted above. rather, pay attention to what accordfreak said just before it, and use a return correction kit for the surge tanks overflow.

yes that is the way to do it... just to make it 350z/g35 specific tho, you would need to add that the fuel return re-enters the stock fuel pump assembly via a return correction kit. this allows the siphon to be active any time the surge tank is full, which will be almost always (a walbro filling a surge can will be able to outflow the bosch feeding the engine, pretty much all the time in most applications. expect the surge canister to only be less-than-full when the vehicle is turning under conditions that will be starving the in-tank walbro, such as road racing. also expect to replace that in-tank pump every so often under those conditions, because walbros dont last long when you let them starve).

output flow ratings are based on psi. with an inline pump the first pump DOES NOT always determine limits of the fuel system. if the first pump runs in freeflow it will supply far more than rated at 40-50psi, the second pump then creates the pressure, thus giving it it's fuel output rating. the first pump will help the second one create the psi set at the regulator. both give eachother a helping hand. as long as your second pump is larger, no sweat. get it? got it!
