Default E-manage Installation ???'s

Well, I am getting ready to add my emanage , 440 injectors and Walbro fuel pump this week. I need info on the emanage settings. Does anyone have a link or info on where to set the jumpers and switches? Also, can I run the emanage in a bypass mode? I want to install it today and still drive the car in its original configuration with the FMU for now, until I install the injectors and fuel pump. I have the J&S Ultra Safeguard installed and I plan to have my ECU flashed again by TS. What timing maps should I use? I understand that the emanage and J&S only retard timing, what if it is too retarded? When I get the ECU reflashed, should I have them leave the timing maps at stock levels and set up my curve with the safeguard and emanage? When I had it flashed the first time, I did not have the J&S installed and they had to pull more timing than their base maps for the procharger, because of detonation above 6000 rpms.

Sharif, you may just be getting a call.

By the way, John at J&S is a real standup guy. I had initial problems when I installed the safeguard and he was willing to pack up his o-scope and drive to my location to find the problem and help me out, I live about 45 miles away and in LA traffic that is a lot! I found out the problem and the safeguard is working flawlessly. With my re-flash, I know I am pulling out too much timing, but it is very safe.

Call anytime!

With the eManage installed, you can setup the maps and parameters so it will essentially do nothing. If that is what you want to do, there is no drawback in leaving it wired up..but just not doing anything.

Call me and I will show you how.

Regarding timing, I would run the car with an OBDII scanner, and figure out where your current timing is. If you are near 18 degrees at WOT, then I would just leave it be. Then you can setup the safegaurd to auto detect and individual cylinder retard, in the rare event that detonation is actually detected.

Sharif, what scanner should I get? I went to AutoZone and the guy said the OBDII scanner that they had would not show timing. Is there another one that works for what I need? Is there a software program that I could use with a laptop and a plug? I think Dr. Bonz is using something similar, I'll have to shoot him a PM.
