Rayden2001: Haahaha. Where from in Illinois? How about your hood? (See my post above) I hear you on the nickel and dime. I paid $225 shipped for the SSQV and a steel weld on flange at NOPI, enter RPM in the discount code box for $20 off $200 and $10 off $100 - $199. So I am going to wait for sure on the reflash and boost controler because that is another easy $1K. PE has a combination boost controller/ boost gauge that they recommended, but I have no idea how good it is. It is a top seller in Japan I was told. If I reflash now, I just have to reflash again when I up the boost, think that is another $150. Or I will personally talk to Tashi and see what he says. It is running very nicely right now. Is the hks fcon pro a better route to go? I haven't heard of using it with this kit.

Again, Rayden2001, how is your hood fitment? Everything clear under there without any problems? Is it a Seibon or the original? Carbon or Fiberglass? Thanks!

We have a PE kit in stock that we were going to use on our car. Of course we went down a different path. This kit has HPC coated exhaust manifolds and turbo housings. We are letting this kit go very, very cheap!.....Give me a buzz!

Whats the need for a boost controller? If your ECU doesn't sense boost and you can't do multiple maps then you're askin for a disaster. I say set it and forget it and flash your ecu.

You seem to make sense. Why do they say to use a boost controller?

Boost controllers are great for cars that come with a turbo system that can learn based on MAP sensing. The only system now that would safely support something like this for an aftermarket system would be the e-manage, as you can program multiple maps. Lets say you wanted your wife/kid(s) to drive the car, and wanted to put it at 0 boost, or 4lbs... you can do that w/ a boost controller. If you do this with a reflashed ecu, regardless at what PSI you set the boost controller to, the ECU wont know the difference and will provide the same fuel/timing maps as it did for X boost.

You don't want to set a boost controller for 8psi for a ECU tuned on 4psi. In your case, boost is limited by the springs in the wastegates. Theres no need for a controller.

Now a boost gauge, definatly go for it.

Sorry I forgot to reply on the hood question I was a little buzzed But anyways my hood is the veilside version 3 in fiberglass. The fitment is perfect and so is the finish. Everyone thats sees my car loves the hood, I just like feeling the heat coming out of the vents after a long ride. I know I'm strange.
Oh, I'm from Beach Park (lake county) Its close to Gurnee.

My brother lives in McHenry, we used to shop at Big Gurnee Discount as kids. I gotta have that hood. My mom lived in Fox Lake. I worked up there in the late 1970s, Lake county and McHenry county. Thanks.

Rayden2001:
Haha. I was pogoing at that time. Who did you get your hood from? You have exactly the body setup I am looking at, in some ways. I have the NISMO JDM spoiler, and NISMO USDM front lip, looking to get your hood and Veilside V1 sides. Could you unbolt and ship? That way I don't need paint!

Last time I was in Round Lake Beach was about 5 years ago, it has developed quite a bit. So has the Fox Lake/McHenry area.

In case you are buzzed, where did you get the hood again?

Thanks.

I thought you did some photoshop on the paint, and that is why it looked like that!
So forget shipping those parts, I'll just buy some.

You did answer my main question, will the Veilside hood (V3) clear the PE kit.

How did those Samora fenders bolt on? Much fitment issue? They look fantastic, but I heard they need a lot of TLC to get to fit right.

Thanks so much.

with the boost level you are running...the tires would break loose in 4th gear if

A) they were coated in mayonaise
B) they are 145's in the rear
C) you are driving on ice

if A, B or C do not apply, then it is not likely...

glad you are enjoying the kit..be careful..take the necessary precautions..this weekend has been a bad one for the vq's..like 2 or 3 people blew their motors!!!!

BE CONSERVATIVE until you do more upgrades (my $.02)

By the way where did you buy your turbo kit from and how long did it take them to install it? It took me a day and a half to take all the stock stuff out to get ready to install the turbo kit.

I was running these new "brake dust free" wheel tire combos
https://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/125277-killer-lip-in-diamond-black.html
They corner great, but big problems with traction.

It better clear the pe kit, I don't see why it wouldn't... I'll find out soon though. The sorona fenders sucked!!They costed me an arm and a leg to get them perfect. But they do look good now...but If I had the chance to do it again I wouldn't ,they costed a little too much for them.
