not sure if this is a stupid question or not, and to revive a dead thread ... i've heard good things about the clutchmaster, and think with the amount of track time (circuit, not drags) I see, the 6 puck will be a good choice (especially paired with my APS ST). However, their flywheel is $725. The JWT is $450. Any reason not to pair the clutchmaster stage 4 (6 puck) with the JWT flywheel?

I think you can use the clutchmaster's clutch with your stock flywheel.

I'm pretty sure you're right - can't imagine you not being able to use the stock flywheel with these clutches. But the temptation of a light flywheel (JWT is something like 1/2 the weight of the oem piece) is tough to resist. Anything to get a little more throttle response out of the car

I'm getting the JWT clutch and flywheel put in this week. Do I have to break it in?

Mine already has plenty, I don't want mine to wrap up faster personally. Light flywheel + FI probably makes it shift like a bike.

+1 - Just the way I like it

Actually what I really want is to fix the emissions-related delay when letting off the gas. A 'normal' (ie carbuereted motor) or even FI with cable-connected throttle plate, when you let off the gas has immediate response (but it goes rich because fuel is already being metered for the expected air, which just had the door shut on it). Our throttle by wire system won't 'shut the door' as promptly because of the temporary rich condition it causes. So what the driver feels is a delay between release of the throttle and seeing revs drop. Since I can't easily fix that (at this point, I think only a standalone ECU aka Motec) I'm hoping a lightweight flywheel might minimize it.
