Look at posts #26 & #32. I'm new to this so a bunch of it is over my head, but doesn't #26 mean 3 maps for the Unichip?

I believe the problem is how do you change to these other maps without unichip software?

i don't think so. it's just able to control three functions in tuning, but unable to change maps. as least that's how i'm reading it. i may be wrong though.

xxl, damen........so confusing isn't it? I just wish someone from Unichip would just say this is what our system can do & this is what it cannot do. I guess more time will answer more questions regarding the Unichip.

i dont meen to afend any one, but if your installer/shop/tuner cant tune a unichip they shuldent be your first choice for a tt kit. the unichip is a bit backwards but it isnt hard to tune(on a proper dyno). and if you havent had it tuned properly your missing out on power and posably safty. i would bet 80-90% of the storys of blown motors regardless of kit maker, turbo or charger, is due to inproper tuning.

To tune the unichip you have to be an authorized by unichip so it not about not knowing how to tune the software. Unless you are an authorized unichip dealer you don't get the software to tune the unichip. They are a very limited number of unichip tuners in the US. Also, I am not 100% on this, but to become a unichip tuners you have to own a load based vs. a inertia based dyno. The industry standard is a dyno jet which is inertia based.

well thats sorta the point. if you shop is not properly equiped, shouldnt you find one that is. and there are a lot if you look, the industry standard is nota dyno jet its just the cheepest and most comon becous of its price and its so easy to use. the dynodynamics is the industry standard for tuner shops, i beleve APS even uses one.

From the sound of your post and your location I think you are APS. I agree with you that a load based dyno is better for tuning than a intertia based dyno but if a shop does not have a load based dyno that does not make them imcompetent.
