I bet the settings on Greddy or any TT are sensitive with our engines. I better get mine in for a recheck. After I stopped I was worried. I didn't get on mine to much that whole day.
Bruce thank u so much for your help. Im just so greatful that u happened to be there right when it happened. Definately have Rob check it out. Tuning was not the issue since i know Rob is an excellent tuner and i never messed with the settings after i got my car back.

You guys all know that I tell it like it is. No sugar coating here. Charles posted about his smoking turbos.....and others can share if they want to.

If someone has a private conversation with me, it would be wrong for me to divulge more details. That's all I can say.

I am confused. You posted the car was running on the out of the box setting earlier in the post. Was the car tuned by Rob or not? If not I would have definatley not trusted greddy's out of the box tune.

Now do not start saying that z car garage is to blame because this is DEFINATELY not the case . They are a very reputable shop and this was just simply that the engine did not hold. I heard of another member who had the same thing happen to him while driving. So i believe its the greddy kit. Even at stock boost its not safe at all.

no reason to be afraid if you spend and extra $2000 in parts that do not come with kit

somewhat correct.

spazapilot had a TS reflash with PE380 injectors ... he blew his motor..but I forgot the details .. something to do with a boost controller .. not the system itself.

This is what I want to know.

Rob is NOT a great tuner if he let a stock mapped greddy TT leave his shop AFTER one already blew up in that form on this exact car.

The emanage was initialized when i bent a rod the first time. After this Rob put in the stock base map that greddy puts in the emanage. Thanks to etx (he had an unlocked emanage) he was able to give us stock base map. Rob simply just put this in. the car ran great for about 11 months. No problems. So it was not Robs tune.

When i purchased the turbo kit Rob did not do the install. It was another shop that didnt specialize in Z's. Rob is not at fault. His shop has done numerous vortech, stillen supercharger installs and plenty of APS installs. His shop is very reputable. Ask anyone here in the norcal section and u will see.

I know he is a well respected tuner. I have seen his works. I however cannot understand why he would let a stock mapped, un-aftermarket-part-assisted Greddy TT to leave his shop. This is the part I am complaining about. I just don't think a well known and well respected shop like that would be letting cars out of the shop like that.

Not to beat a dead horse, but if you do not pull timing, you are asking for this to happen. I think it is obvious when you look at the number of blown engines that had Greedy TT's or Procharger SC's installed, compared to other types of kits.

I know other kits have had some blown engines, but not the kind of numbers the Greddy and Procharger have produced. I think timing is the most critical part of keeping your engine in one piece. Well, I guess I should say tuning is really the most important component to a safe FI system, this would cover a crappy baseline fuel map and the timing issue....

It is possible but mostly due to misuse like overreving but I am sure if there is another way you will find it, sorry not funny but couldn't help myself, good luck.
