what is the difference in the tuner version and the regular turbonetics kit? what do we all have to do to get the one with the CAT version for us emission sensitive states? basically what to we request when we order this particular model?
To order the cat version, just place this in the "comments" section of the website, and that you want the "my350z.com pricing special, and the $300 cat upgrade". I will take care of the rest, and add it to your invoice.
Thanks!

If you look at the kits, they have been engineered in different ways.
First, the APS kit is about $1000 more expensive.
Second, the APS kit mounts the turbo down low, and not visible from the engine bay. Turbonetics chose to install theirs in the front of the engine bay, essentially where the factory airbox used to sit. APS maintains their design results in faster spool up, and more effecient turbo operation, among other benifits. The Turbonetics, from the dyno charts I've seen, seems pretty darn impressive in the midrange, and according to Mai, its generating 8psi of boost pressure in the mid 3000rpm range under heavy load.
Third, APS uses an Unichip for tuning. Turbonetics uses an ECU Reflash.
The APS single kit appears to be a very well engineered kit as well...as most of their products are. There are subtle differences between both kits.
Personally, I would have no reservations about installing either of these kits. It will be a month or so at least before the single T's arrive in the states, and the initial batch are all already presold to customers. So I would not expect to see inventory on the APS single kits until Aug or so.
You can also refer to Mia's other single T threads, as there are some lively debates about the FAB's of both kits. Good luck with your decision!

I bet Mia can jump in and advise.
The G35 kit is moving along. Brad's car is in the shop for it. The modifications to the kit were/are quick. There are some other added features that I'm sure that the G owners will appreciate that are being developed now...

You have to send in you ECU as each ECU is coded to a specific code stored on your actual key..

The Turbonetics kit is being sold with the reflash included in the price. All you need to do, is remove your ECU and send it to Turbonetics. They will reflash and send back you. 3 day total turnaround time.
The ECU travel is really a non-issue. The shipping materials/label are included (as is the cost of the reflash, which is done by and at Turbonetics), and per the install manual, one of the first things you do (after the A/C purge/recharge) is remove the ECU and get it on the road. Unless you really whiz through the install, the ECU will be back before you really need it.
You gotta give T-netics props, this is a well thought out procedure.
