Unless you really whiz through the install, the ECU will be back before you really need it.

You gotta give T-netics props, this is a well thought out procedure.
I agree...very clean, and no extra shipping charges to the customer.

My understanding is that the ECU reflash is a special version that Technosquare did for TNetics. IS that correct? So if you go with the tuner version of the kit then can you get the TNetics version of the reflash + mods for the injectors? Would it be better to buy a Split Second box or eManage as opposed to the ECU reflash? (Most of the tuner shops around here have little eManage experience).

The reflash was acutally designed by Turbonetics themselves. They bought the hardware to do the flash from Technosquare and dyno tuned for weeks to get the flash where they wanted. As for management I prefer the reflash to any piggyback.

but will the standard TNetics reflash work with the bigger injectors ? What size injectors will that ECU reflash handle?

<--- trying to decide on the tuner kit versus the standard kit

The standard Turbonetics reflash will control 380 cc injectors only. HOWEVER Technosquare now has the ability to tune for up to 750 cc injectors. I'm pretty sure if you contact Turbonetics they could work out a flash for you...

What i ment was, i have heard of people getting a ECU out of a wrecked Z and using it for a reflash and keeping their stock ECU so if they want to go back to stock for warrenty issue's they pull the mods off and back to the stock ECU.

The spare ecu would need to be coded to the key transponder in order to work. That's the way it works with the Infiniti at least. Does the Z have the chip in the key??

Any ECU other than your stock one will need to be programmed from the dealership. It will cost you though. BTW, I have a 04.5 6mt ECU for sale if someone needs one.

The ECU reset will not reset it back to the "stock" settings as they no longer exist post reflash. The reflash actually alters the facotry fuel and timing maps so your stock maps are bascially gone unless you flash it back to stock. And I agree the second ECU is going to be very expensive to buy and have coded. Yes the Z does have the "Immobilizer" chip.

The in-stock kit has been SOLD!

So now the leadtime is roughly 4 weeks. We require a $900 deposit, and the rest due when ready to ship.

Oh ok. Thats good. Then I wont have to worry about reseting the ECU later on for whatever reason.

Congrats! on whoever bought it.

Still a nice deal, almost all the places requires at least 1/2 for deposit.

Yes you could... here is an excerpt from the install instructions:

NOTE 2: If, in the future, you choose to remove the turbocharger system (for example, before selling the car), it is
possible to re-program your ECU back to naturally aspirated “stock” specs. At that time, contact Turbonetics’
customer service staff for details.

Full instructions are here http://members.***.net/turbonetics35...icsinstman.pdf
