Default Boost Controllers....what do they do?

I have been trying to do research as to what boost controllers do. However my search keeps me going around in circles with no helpful info. Im interested in knowing what exactly they do and which one is good, Greddy or Blitz? Can you change the Psi from it or what? Sorry for the lame questions but im failry new to this stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

Boost controller controls your boost level - for forced induction. It allows you to change your PSI levels.

I would recommend a turbo XS manual Boost controller. If you are using it on a aps kit, they come with boost controller, which is made up of the unichip boost control module and solenoid. You can run the MBC (manual boost controller) instead of this if you like, but it is not needed

I prefer MBC because of their ease of use. Very easy to setup and adjust.

a boost controller doesnt have anything to do with with nitrous. a boost controller is used with a turbo.

The only reason I would see one is if they had an emanage for tunning and used the e01 controller for programing the emanage, otherwise it was for show like a fake nos bottle.

How much boost can a 350z engine handle without blowing it up in only a few hundred miles? More boost = more HP so naturally more is better but I'm wondering what the limit is.

I've heard of people putting 11psi for each turbo =22psi ... Is there something i'm missing or are these people just asking to blow up their engine real quick?

not 22 pounds - 11 psi on a twin turbo setup = 11 psi. 11 psi is still a lot on a stock motor. Some are running up to 12 psi with GOOD tuning. Personally, I would stay under 10 psi. There are a lot of variables that come into play though. Plenty of Greddy TT users blow their motors on 5.6 psi. It is mostly a factor of proper tuning.

i always used the Blitz dSBC II. controlled my boost spikes rather well. (Greddy turbo kit + MR2 had boost creep issues). a manual boost controller is a good alternative. takes some time to dial in the exact boost setting, but can be made from parts at home depot or menards for about $10-15.
