Zero restriction in the exhaust system allows the turbos to spool up as quickly as possible and in the case of a restrictive exhaust, build more boost. For those of you who are running a system that is not map based should be cautious as this will affect your air fuel ratios, however the aps system compensates fuel and timing based on map pressure therefore no tuning is required when opening up the exhaust.... I have just finished the first of many prototypes tonight.... Here are a few more pics..!

 

i asked peter of aps about going this route and he frowned upon it, i still cant decide if im gonna do it or not.

 

Did he also tell you not to buy a particular wheel? or a particular stereo? No offense Peter if your watching!! He probably looked down on it a little since the car will probably build more boost and thus make more HP... I will dyno it soon open/closed and I will of course monitor my wideband... But like I mentioned,,, it shouldn't need a retune... I will also dyno with the APS Plenum and the cutouts open/closed as soon as the plane gets here!!!! I really wanted to see if they would make a difference at the track but this Sat for Z day shows that its going to be 95 degrees out... Not the best for racing...

 

well considering his knowledge of how the APS kit performs, id be tempted to listen to his advice, like i said i was gonna go this route a while back, and i hope it works out that i still can, but im hesitant to do it just yet with the single turbo and aps plenum. remember more boost means more timing pulled earlier. just be careful.

 

I would be very interested in these! My Dad has them on his 72 Pontiac and they are pretty cool. His EFI will automatically detect the change in his exhause and compensate for it.

Peter always seems to frown upon anything that will modify the way the APS works. I believe this to be in fear that eventually someone will blow up an APS'd motor. Can't blame him for that!
