Default Big WHP

I am trying to make my Z produce well over 600WHP. Do you guys recommend anything? I am for sure I want to go with the GReddy TT kit. I want you guys to recommend what brand I should use for the internals.

I suggest you do some searching. I can't and wont recommend Greddy but there are a lot of options out there and i think other options have shown to be safer. But do some searches, theres more information out there than 1 person can give you.

I think you sohuld ask yourself why you want or need so much power. I know a few board members are making over 500whp with fully built motors and a bunch of other goodies. You are probably looking at around 30k in parts and labor and you will really want to keep an eye on everything. I believe SGP Racing sells long blocks already built and ready for 500WHP and I would think this would be your best bet if you want to make serious power with minimal hassle. Honestly, I would rather have a Z on stock boost or lower and then work on brakes, suspension, etc to have a more balanced car...

This guy is not looking for a out of the box, stock motor, stock fuel system setup .... sooo

Why can't you recommend it? It is more than capable and easier to get to produce over 600whp ... something that is so far been proven difficult with APS. Everyone here knows it is not safe out of the box, but anyone going 550hp + will have a built motor, engine management of sorts and capable fuel system ... so now whats so bad about Greddy?

Jim (realizes he just started another war ... but doesnt care since the above post had no "back-up" ... it just put down Greddy b/c stock motors have a problem with it)

yeah I agree, I'd go with Greddy or SSR Engineering TT kits for big power...

Definitely recommend doing some more research. If you aren't doing it within 1 month, you might want to wait to see what I come up with for the Turbocharger FAQ.

Personally, i'm planning on the following.
GReddy TT kit with GReddy FMIC
GReddy E-Manage with accessories (will use this until i've been at ~650rwhp, then i'm switching to either MoTeC M600 or Electromotive Tec3)
Arias Zero Silicon Pistons (8.6:1 compression ratio)
Pauter Connecting Rods
Darton M.I.D. Sleeves
Tomei 268 Camshafts
Ferrea Valvetrain (valves, valve springs, valve retainers)
My own custom return fuel system (details to come later)
APS intake manifold (probably)
KJR Performance Crank Pulley
ATS twin-plate clutch wtih flywheel

And probably much more that i'm just forgetting to include. All of this will be done over the course of a few years.

I agree, however, I refrained from posting this because I don't want another APS vs. GReddy trashed thread.

Bottom line, APS is the most complete TT kit out of the box for US spec 350Zs. GReddy is a great tuner kit to start with though.

(BTW, I was told by someone that works on E-Manages quite a bit that these base GReddy maps (for the 350Z) look like they only took a few minutes to make and absolutely suck, this could be the reason there are so many blown motors (other than the missing hardware on a kit that GReddy claims is complete))

Check in the forced induction forum section above. There's a ton of information in there.

Good luck.

Well a base model z is 26,800 + another est. $25,00 parts and labor, so = $51,800. A new zo6 is like $60,000 est. plus super charge $8,000-$10,000 = est.70,000. With a high guess.. I think the Z would be a better bang for buck.
