Fellow Vortech people, timing question
Any of you folks taking out timing other than whole numbers?
my current #'s:
5000 = .5
5500 = 1
6000 = 2.5
6500 = 4.5
7000 = 6
I'm retuning the car for the hot weather lately and notice my a/f acting funny when I log it. I get a very smooth a/f until the timing map kicks in. Then during the 500rpm that is effected the a/f goes up about half a percent, say 11.5 to 12, at the beginning and down a whole percent by the end. So every 500 after 5000rpm it is very difficult to smooth it out with fuel. All that is changed is where it starts and ends. If I start it around 11.5 it goes to 10.5 etc...
Anyway, I thought maybe the .5 degree in the map might be the issue. Anyone pulling .5 degree increments?

Thanks Bill. I have a map where I did it based on boost too, but I didn't have as much success tuning the a/f for some reason.
I just recorded a couple of runs with the pc attached to the SS box. It appears that the boost is very consistent at given rpms. I'm going to see what I can do by changing the fuel as the boost increases through a given rpm cell...
All this tinkering... I'm sure people think I'm an absolute freak as they drive past the garage. There I am with the hood up staring at the laptop again.
