Motor is officially blown
I must say that I overheated my car much more severely then that with my turbo and I didn't have this happen. Maybe I was just lucky. My drive home while overheating included a trip up a long hill in which my car unfortunately was in boost and there wasn't much I could do to change that...
Chris, like we talked about over the phone, some minor overheating for 3mins with no boost or load would likely cause no damage to your motor. It's too early to tell what happened, until the motor is taken apart and inspected. A close examination of the pistons can quickly determine if it was overheating, detonation, or a combination thereof.
I agree with Charles, and its certainly no the fault of the APS or GRD for what happened. There are risks with all F/I kits, and there are just too many variables to explain exactly why or how something happened.
Best of luck. And as I mentioned on the on the other board, what were the compression test readings? Your leakdown numbers arent too terrible...IMHO.
