The T fitting replaces the oil sensor, and then T's out to the oil sensor and turbo feed line. To the right of it, in front of the block has a very small hole inches away from it. This is the hole I'm talking about.

After my install, my oil pan and T fitting had a small oil leak after start up. I removed, cleaned and reinstalled all these parts again. Started up the car again and oil was pouring out of the small hole. I have no idea why oil would come out of this hole. My buddy was the one who looked for the leak while I started the car. In about 3 secs. of the engine running, it dumped out 1-2 quarts.

WTF?....Is this hole in the block (i.e. upper oil pan)? That doesn't sound good.

So the first time you started the car, nothing came out of this hole, but after cleaning and re-installing the T-fitting, it did? If you pull the oil pan off, would you be able to see this hole from the inside?

Was this hole there when you started your installation? I don't think (in fact I'm almost positive) my upper pan doesn't have this, so the question is how did it get there?

Keep us in the loop man, I'm really curious about this one.

Could you get a pic of this hole? I'm not sure what you are referring to either.

I believe that hole is the one that has a ball bearing pressed into it. If that was tapped with a tool by accident during the install it may be in the oilpan now or have fallen out onto the floor. It is right beside the oil filter and pressure sensor on the passenger side.

Probably weld it shut because it's only maybe 1/4 inch across.....or....tap the hole and plug with a short bolt and grey gasket maker.....or....replace the pan.

alrite i found the ball. I see that the hole is marked with a teal color and also the ball. Would I be able to just push it back in. Or do I have to open my oil pan again (3rd time) and plug it in from the inside? A guy just wants to start up his turbo z. And g356gear, thanks for the help bro.

You should be able to drop the lower pan and shine a flashlight up to see where the ball goes. I have a feeling it is inside an oil channel though and is only accessible from the outside.

I open the oil pan again and looked inside. There is no access to put the ball in place. And the only other place i see that can fit, is the oil pressure sensore. DOes any one know how I can fix this? Do i just push that ball into the oil pressure fitting.

I wonder what the purpose of this ball is? I can't imagine they put it there just because it looks cool. Is this maybe a vent of some sort? I looked at the shop manual and there is no mention of this, so it must not be "serviceable". Could it be an expansion joint of some type?

Is there a locking collar that holds it in? How did this come out?

I have no idea how it came out. but it came out during the process of my installation of the T-fitting for the turbo lines and cleaning of the oil pan. So when i put everything back in, i didnt notice that ball missing so as i started the car. from that marked teal hole, a lot of oil came out. Then finally i just found that ball underneath my car. I was thinkin of JB welding but i heard its about 6psi pushing thru that hole and i dont think it would hold up. Well I have the ball........any know if im missing anything else and how I can place the ball back in? Im tryin to get pictures as soon as possible
