Default GReddy Type RS BOV on Vortech??

I have a GReddy Type RS BOV in my kitchen that is about to go on my g/f's SRT-4. I was wondering if this would work on the Vortech in place of the Maxflow Bypass Valve. I have heard that the RS is a replacement for the S. In case you havent heard, I am having boost problems. I am not boosting but 5 psi and I should be boosting around 8 psi I think. Several shops to include Autolabz, Z1 Motorsports and GSC Motorsports have suggested that the problem may be a bad bypass valve. So that is why I am wanting to try this.

I am thinking on the Maxflow unit, there are 2 vac lines running to it and on the GReddy, there are ONLY 1. I am not positive though. f this is in fact the case, which ones connect to the GReddy BOV?

TIA,
Zach

I believe that on the vortech you can only run a circulating BOV. The Type RS is not a circulating BOV so it cannot be run on the Vortech. However, the Type S can be fitted to run on a vortech. That is what I have read in a thread a while ago when one member bought a Type RS Bov and then found that u can only run circulating bov.

I'm pretty sure there is a re-circ fitting for the Type RS BOV

The maxflow is a bypass valve, a noisemaker for the vortech system...

The RS is a blowoff valve that will not work with this application. The type S has two ports, one for blowoff and one for bypass.

So I dont guess anyone knows for sure if it will work. Will it cause any harm to the system if I do the install? I called and talked to Matt @ Altered Atmosphere and he said it would work but I don't know. How will I know if it doesnt work properly?

The RS WILL NOT WORK with the vortech. It is a blowoff valve that only opens under boost.

The supercharger needs a bypass valve that is open even under decel (vacuum).

Zach..if they preasurized the system they probably did it before the BOV . And they would have noticed if it leaked or not . With headers , test pipes and Stillen dual exhaust , with the stock pulley I saw 6 psi , I put on the 3.12 pulley and got 7psi . I got tired of the loud exhaust and put on Crawford cats . I got over 9psi after that . Later on I did find a leak in my plenum when I did the preasure check

I know what all you have told me in the past. I just have a BOV on hand now and was wanting to bolt it up and run the car just for ***** and giggles to see what happens. Just to ensure to myself that the bypass valve is not the problem.

I tried that also . It will not open under vacuum and it will screw your tune up .
