Default what will octain boost do for me ?

im racing a camero ss tonight, and was thinking of some octain boost just for the hell of it. my car is running rich as u know what lower rpm and around 12 or so at higher rpm. will octain boost make me rich or lean in anyway ? im running vortech sc, headers, test pipes and borla td exhaust. running 93 octain here, it will also be hot as hell. around 90-95 temp.

It will make you run richer. Leaning out will add more power but there is a limit before your motor starts to ping and can't handle it. 93 octane is more than enough. The octane boost will just clog your injectors later down the line. Try running race gas and down a pulley size without knocking if possible. I think you will hang with the Camaro. Good luck.

Don't bother, Race gas does not provide power on it's own. All it does is allow you to run 1. Higher boost (Not useful on a street supercharger due to the difficultly of swapping pulleys.) 2. A more aggressive timing curve. (which you would have to tune for and have a separate map for the race gas.) or 3. A slightly leaner A/F.

On turbo cars you can throw in some race gas and turn up the boost a few psi for some quick power increases. With a supercharger you need swap out the pulley to a smaller one for the extra boost then swap back for street gas. To much of a pain in the butt.

Good luck,
Gary

I think I need some octane boost because I just got some really cr4ppy gas. I noticed a huge difference in power this morning after getting a full tank of gas last night. I hate it when people sell cr4p gas. Especially with the prices so damn high.
