Default Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit Question?

OK This is my second post about this kit, I have been reading in the forum a lot and almost all my questions have been answer. I want to buy the kit and I want to know if I will be able to boost a little bit more let say something like 1 or two more pounds without having to send the computer to be reprogram. I also want to know if anyone has done this and if there has been any problem? thanks

It will likely work ... but you will be risking popping the motor. I know the stock tune is somewhat conservative. So, although you may get away with it, why not just try and run what it was designed with and enjoy your ~400whp car.

According to Turbonetics the flash and injectors are good to about 9.5 PSI. After that the injectors are approaching 100% duty cycle.

What does that mean 100% duty cycle? Does this mean I am going to need to replace my injectors after 9.5psi or just add piggy back and tuning?

Yeah, you'll need some 550s and an eManage if you're gonna be going higher.

MIA, Are you running 1 step colder plugs? If so what kind? I am preparing for the install. Anything else I should consider?

That means the injectors are wide open and have no more fuel to add. You can either raise the fuel pressure a bit which is just a band aid or get some 550 cc injectors for more boost. I believe Technosquare can now flash for up to 750cc injectors so a custom flash will be needed. Another option is to splice in some RC440s which should give you a bit more head room also. Power Enterprise does however make drop in plug in 510 ccs which should also be fine.

I am currently running stock plugs and that is what Turbonetics recommends. One step colders are good insurance but not needed. I have just over 7500 miles on my car since the kit and all with stock plugs...

MIA, did you ever get CEL for Multi Cylinder Misfire on your car? I am getting this code and trying to find out what is the cause of it. I have gotten about 1k miles on my new engine and clutch and I still havent gotten the chance to do wide open throttle due to the fact that I am so paranoid about the CEL.

I've popped it before but it is currently not on in my car. A couple other people have gotten it too both with and without the Turbonetics kit. It appeasrs to be idle related. As long as it says P0300 you're fine. I've full boosted my car as has Turbonetics with this code. No side effects...its apparentely common on a lot of turbo cars.

Hey Shervin, my car has thrown this code a few times. Conveniently, not since I installed the cj-motorsports shielded CAS wire, but that may be coincidence...The car seemed to run fine, even with this, and I trust MIA implicitly when he says you're ok to boost with this code.

BTW, next time we're together, remind me to show you how to read/clear codes using the gas pedal. It's a piece of cake and saves a LOT of hassle.
