Will not argue about the quality of the HKS..never seen one . But if you dont live by a certified dealer that can tune it ????? what then ??? How many certified dealers our in the US ? Only in big city's I would guess
A local shop looked into getting certified...If you dont sell enough of them they pull your dealer ship and then the customers that bought them are chit out of luck

I heard the HKS is awsome ... but the things I dont like about it are 1) the small intercooler and 2) the power out put seems low like the stillen kit.

I'm debating between a single turbo or the vortec kit .... I want about 375 whp and want a SAFE conservitive tune on the kit ... Basiclly I want to install it, have it tunned and not dick with it. What do you guys think is best out of these three : APS Single Kit | Tubonetics Single Kit | Vortec ?

Sorry for thred jacking.

The thing is the ATI or Vortech can heat up on that first run and still out run your HKS on the 2nd. Actually the ATI has it's own oiling system so the only heat transfered is from the mounts themselves.

I'm looking at the Stillin stage 2 for the reliability and engine warranty but I like the Vortech too.

There is an article in Super Street magazine (Aug 2005) about installing the Vortech SC in a 350Z. Just got the mag today so haven’t read it but I’m about to go read it now…

If you want that edition you'd better go out now and get it because the new one is out and they will probably pull the old one from the shelves soon.

Interesting, I'm waiting on my 9lb'ers to get here. I get more of a gear sound now too. Not that I mind but I did notice how much smoother DrBonz Z sounded @ ZDayz w/ the 9lb pullies. I liked it too!

That was Axis wheel's yellow Z. I think a couple of cylinders were about gone by the end of that event! I think they have went back w/ a Turbonetics ST on that car now if I'm not mistaken.

when i spoke to xs engineering, one of the "certified" installers, they said the basic kit is tuned out of the box to certain preset parameters, ie, the install involves no tuning. they said the only way to tune it past the factory level is to add the vpro. hks verified this when i called them.
i'm having ts install mine. they're not "certified", but i trust their ability to install this kit properly.

Thats a bummer ....Because no set tune is going to be good for every one . The Vortech kit has proven this as well the turbonetic kit . The Vortech is tunable with the R4 software . T-netics has to be sent back and forth , who know how many times . If you have to go to the VPro..another $1200 [guessing ] and there are still very few out there to tune it
