Default Vortech Vid???

Does anyone have a vid of their car with a Vortech S/C installed, which is running at idle? I don't really like the sound that my SC is making and I and just hoping nothing is wrong with it. Everything runs fine though, so I'm not sure why it sounds like crap I tried finding the sweet spot with the belts but I just can't seem to get it to where I like it. To discribe the sound I'm am getting: Its sort of a rattling barring sound. As soon as I rev it up it sounds ok again.

Thanks

Rob

It should have a "warble/whirring" sound to it, at least mine does.

That's normal and one of the reason I got rid of it for a turbo. Mine would ratlle when it dropped under 600 RPMS. If the a/c was on the idle went up to 700 it would not rattle.

Hey Backagain, those vids are before or after you fixed it? Do you have a vid or a sound clip of how it sounds now? Hmmm also how did you get it to sound 100% better?

Thanks

don't have a video yet, however there is a clip of it at www.panhandlez.com and click on videos, then save the video SRVIDSSATRACING2 . there is a small clip at the begening of that video. i just tightened down the idler pulley as tight as i could get it. still a little clunky but not bad, i will get another video up soon after it's tuned.

Hey Phaneom, I just finished my vortech install a few days ago and I am getting the exact same noise you are when the rpms are below 600. I've tried messing with the belts but the noise is still there. The car runs strong and sounds great when the rpms r higher than 600. I wonder if it is normal? The only thing I could think of is that the bearings in the supercharger are not working properly b/c of the low oil pressure when the rpms are low. I'm going to give vortech a call tommorow.

Back again, what did u do to fix this?

I did have a similar issue, so i had the dealer up the idle to 750.
