Default Vortech - 422 RWHP

I went to Charlotte, NC two weeks ago to CP Racing to get my car tuned and a few parts installed. I got a 3.12 pulley installed for my Vortech to get two more pounds of boost. I hit about 8.6 on the run I watched on the dyno. I was getting about 6-7 lbs prior to the change.

I currently have a Zentronix digital wide band guage that does data logging and displays lamda, EGT, boost, and A/F. The display is installed in my dash under my radio however I can not read it while driving. The boost number is weird and you have to do additional math to get the right boost number so I decided to install a two guage A-pillar setup with A/F and boost. I had a Defi D-Series Boost gauge with the black face and an Innovate Motorsports Standalone Wideband A/F gauge. The A/F on my old gauge measures the passenger side cat while the new gauge is installed on the drivers side cat.

I also got my Stillen Sway bars installed that I got for my B-day. As to the numbers from the tune I got a nice even A/F in between 11-12 and 422 RWHP and 340lbs of torque. While the shop had the car we took a nice weekend touring the bars of Charlotte. All in all a good trip.

I would highly recommend CP Racing. They have been the best shop I have dealt with so far.

hey man, long time no see. met you at zfest in orlando a while back.
nice numbers you got there, i myself will be heading up to cpracing august 13th, it would be nice if we had a few of the charlotte people come by the place, would like to get a mini meet together. they are going to put the 3.12 pulley on as well. i have the stock vortech pulley on now and im hitting 7 psi or so. hopefully they can get me numbers around what you have. , on a side note, how long did it take you to get there from atl ?

Thanks! I am very happy. Andy and I have the same numbers from CP Racing so it should not be a problem.

About 3.5 hours of course we had radar and laser protection. Watch for cops in SC and NC as they were using unmarked cars including a camro and a crown vic.

Would be nice to see you before 3.12 dyno chart if you have one. Have the 3.12 ready to install but also wanna change injectors and a walbo pump.. Are you concerned with max'ing out the injectors (assume you have stock)..When you install the (on order) SSV you may have the best before and after #'s comparison assuming you dyno after install..Love your Tq #!!!

The SSV is already on the car. I had a very hard time getting the car tuned with the SSV in Atlanta. Before the SSV and the 3.12 I was getting 401RWHP. I don't think the Intake added to much value to be honest.

In additon I do believe my injectors are maxing out or getting close to it. Maybe Eric from CP Racing can shed some light, I believe he metioned something about it when I was up there. Anyway the next performace mod will definitely be the fuel system.

You don't look to hesitant in your videos! ha. What is causing you to worry?

Great numbers, 340tq especially. Hopefully CP Race will come through for me this week.

That was the problem. The gauge should read the correct boost numbers. I know mine was always about 5 to high. Somebody posted the math on one of the threads in this forum.

I was the same way until I just got it tuned. You could tell my car was running way to rich before and the car just did not handle that very well.

Now that I am tuned I am not afraid to downshift and get on it. As a rule I don't boost too often, however at least once on the way to and from work I just go through the gears. Only problem is that is doesn't last long since the car pulls over 100 so fast now.

I have no problems with the Zeitronix boost sensor . It reads exactly what my Split Second Box reads . I have mine mounted on the dash right in front of me under the windshield . Dont even have to take my eyes off the road to see it

I went to the shop over several days in the morning and evening and I could always tell that they were making progress on your car.

Maybe it was another bad install from one of my old shops. Or my relation to sea level. Either way I could not read the boost and A/F since they are cattycorner from each other. The display is too large and would not look good mounted on the dash in a viewable area (at least in my opinion). I am still using it just not as the primary guage when driving.

You guys are soooo lucky. I have to wait until August 25th until I can get the time off of work to make the trip to CP Racing for my Vortech install. I'm hoping that the trip will be just shy of 8.5 hours from Orlando, FL but I think that might be a bit optimistic. I'll be heading up with 2 other guys (also getting installs) from Florida so a second mini-meet might be in order.

Is this from a bad install or what? How could your car be running to rich and that be an issue for getting on the car? If anything it is safer that way, just smells bad and burns gas... The only reassurance a good tune is going to do is give the proper A/F curve, which shouldn't affect the overall drivability (numbers wise, yes).
