Wideband Install Point On Vortech SC?
Hey guys, was thinking of getting a wideband since I am now FI with the Vortech Kit. I have factory cats, does any 1 know where to mount the bung/sensor on the factory cats?
Also how much is should cost me?
Thanks

It should be before the converters, as close to the exhaust ports as possible. As far as cost, it depends on the shop. I can't imagine it would take more than a hour to remove the cat, install the bung and reinstall the cat. I bought test pipes with the bung already installed and did it myself so I don't really know.

With cats it is tough because you have no room up at the top of the cat and below is after the cat which is no good for the AF reading. So if you go with pipes it is easy just put it anywhere
I can't remember what model car year you have but if it an 03 then I believe there are dual purpose sensors that serve as narrow and wideband and then you could install it in place of the first sensor but if yo uhave an 04.5+ then yo ucan't becuase the first sensor is an AF sensor already or see if you can tap into that sensor to get your AF reading I think some have tried.

I used the passenger side cat.
At the end closest to the header.
I cut back a small portion of the aluminium sheilding.
Drilled a appropiate sized hole myself.
Had the bung welded on at a metal shop.
Some muffler shops wont touch a catalytic converter.
