Default New APS TT Tuner kit to be released

As mentioned above APS has decided to release the APS tuner kit version of their TT kit. Here is the quote from Peter:

Well a decision has been made by APS to release a Tuner APS twin turbo system, details in the near future.

The US piston and rod manufacturers are going to love APS for going down this path.

Peter

this may be a stupid question, but why doesn't aps team up with a company who produces a tunable emanage unit ? like vortech with the ss box. and by tunable i mean more tunable than unichip. i understand the reason for them doing it, but doesn't it **** off people by not being able to tune it without driving across the country if you don't live close by a unichip dealer or whatever. and before this starts into a pissing match, im just asking a question, not knocking their product or anything, just need some understanding. vortech produces 2 kits. tuner kit and one with ss box.

thanks.

That's exactly why they're releasing the tuner kit, so you don't have to be tied down with the Unichip, you use whatever you want.

I guess APS feels that the Unichip is superior to the emanage for whatever reason. I dunno.

If you don't want to use the Unichip, buy the tuner version and then buy an emanage.

If you want to have an APS dealer install the kit on your stock motor, buy the complete kit and be done with it.

If I had to bet money, I'd say they'd go with Motec:

Makes sense as far as systems and location. Very easy to develop something together. Makes sense....no?

APS will in the future release a stand alone engine management computer and a tuneable interceptor style computer to compliment the APS tuner twin turbo system.

Simply, APS is listening and responding to consumer demand by offering a more flexible up grade path for turbocharging the VQ engine.

when you mention in the future, do you have a time frame for it? base on what i see in the past, most of the product by APS get delay pretty badly (6 to almost a year)

Testing is well under way, I'd guess somewhere between 6 to 12 months from August 05.

Witht the exception of the plenum I'd say that APS hits the release target dates very accurately, that said some developments can blow out time wise due to unforseen technical difficulties.

seems more like a result of a free market system, APS doesn't want anyone to start eating it's lunch (which is perfectly understandable)

Will the stand alone engine management system be user tunabe? Or at a minimum, tunable without an expensive license?
