Default cleaning o2 sensors?

is it possible to clean 02 sensors? i believe i heard it is not possible, but wanted to check again. if so, or someone has done it with good results, what was used to clean it? i may have some carbon in a couple of mine possibly making problems for me. if this car didn't have 4of them i would just buy a new one, but 4 is spendy! thanks

the o2 sensors are one possible cause for the dreaded and all too familiar po300 misfire code. when my e blue went, it ran super rich and smoked bad.

i physically wipe them off everytime i make a change, but that's about it. no problems resulted from wiping them off with a rag.
