Default Supercharger, maybe turbo

I am getting a 350z in a few months, and in 2 years or so I plan on adding forced induction to it. During the next 4 years I will be in college, so it will be hard to save up for FI quickly. I am just wondering what should be updated before going FI besides clutch and fly.

Also, are the supercharger kits the only kind of FI that pass emission testing?

Thanks

Jon

yeah SC kits are the only CARB legal kits.

lot of turbo kits are working on CARB though.

You don't NEED to upgrade anything else for FI other than the clutch, but you should seriously CONSIDER wider wheels and better tires, an LSD, bigger oil pan if you get a SC, possibly a shielded crank angle sensor wire from CJ motorsports. Possibly a vented hood, you'll probably definetly want gauges - A/F, EGT, oil temp, fuel pressure, you'll possibly want a return fuel system, you'll possibly want larger injectors and fuel pump, and possibly a seperate piggyback or EMS system instead of what comes with the SC kit or if you get a tuner kit that doesn't come with a piggyback computer.

So, all turbo kits would be legal in VA? I've always went the NA route, so I am not quite sure.

A lot of kits call for removal of the cats. I think any state that does emissions tests would probably fail you based on that alone. I think last I heard MIA mentioned that turbonetics was going to sell a kit with a high flow cat option. Im not sure what kind of effect that will have on performance, but I am eager to hear .
