Default Built motor, Greddy TT, & Custom 3" exhaust vid

Hey all,

Forgive me for the quality and shortness of the vid, but I just figured how to do this tonight...not to mention I was driving while I filmed. I will make better ones tomorrow and bring a camera guy so I can concentrate on driving.

Please right click and save as so everyone can see them.

Thanks! Yes the car is running pig rich. The AEM reads ------- after 3700 RPMS @ WOT. I believe ------- is below 9.0:1. The AEM is on the passenger bank. I have a Plx r-500 on the drivers side and it reads 9.9:1 after 3700 @ WOT. I knew I was running rich, but I was hoping that with the 3" tp's and exhaust it would lean it out into the high 10's low 11's. With no exhaust it was running mid to high 11's. I am going get it retuned this weekend. The car feel strong as hell but after 4000RPMS even though it is still making power it hesitates. Also I smell lots of fuel in the cockpit.

what do you wanna know. Here are some pics.

Underneath view from the front

Underneath view from the rear

View of exhaust tips from the rear. There is a big space between the tips and the car because the tips were positioned with my Top Secret Rear bumper on the car. I am getting the body kit installed soon.

is that piping mandrel bent? or did the exhaust place bend it to fit?
can't see the vid..how does it sound? much louder than before?...
i wonder how it would sound without resonators...im getting my parts in tomorrow..i'm doing the exhaust with mufflers only first..making our own test pipes as well...if too loud, i'll through some resonators in there

correct, I already have them.

Todd,

I think it will be unbearable without the resonators so have them ready.

Gman..looks great. Remember how I raised your fuel pressure 2psi. I figured the 3 inch exhuast would lean it out accordingly, but there is no way to know without strapping the car on the dyno.

Before you get it retuned, turn the fuel pressure down 2psi, and I bet it will solve all your problems with richness. Call me if you'd like me to walk you through it...OK?

The AF is pricesly dialed in, but its now too rich due to backpressure, as we tuned the car with dump tubes and no exhaust. So dropping your fuel pressure will lean you out in a linear fashion...across the board...which is exactly what you want.

Wow, that exhaust sounds MEAN. Questions: Do resonators add any back pressure? Would a 2nd set of resonators in the test pipes (or even the exhaust) lower the volume? In this kind of high power turbo application, would an h-pipe in the exhaust be detrimental?

Thanks Sharif. I will call you later today. It runs great, but after 4000 RPMS you can tell it hesitates even though it is still making power, unlike when I had the Evo II exhaust. The power isn't as crisp as when I am in the lower RPMS. I finally love my car again. Thanks again!

No problem. One other thing, is that a restrictive exhuast actually results in more trq down low, but lack of hp and trq up top. So oftentimes, a setup with a restrictive exhuast can feel a little crisper down low. A sure sign of a restrictive exhasut setup, or too much timing retard, is a VQ 35 that makes significantly more trq than hp...assuming they arent running an RPM based boost strategy (ie...more boost down low, and tapering off up top).

We'll get that thing dialed in. I wish you were closer to us!!

The car does not feel as crisp after 3700 rpms and the PLX reads 9.9 on the a/f. I will call you later to fix it. How low will the PLX read? Is 9.9 the lowest?
