with a better flowing exhaust you might loose boost, but will gain power. esentially the motor will be more efficient.

Thanks for the replies UP. I will have them checked. The reason I say this is through a lot of reading on S/C and back pressure. It seems as if they need some amount. Neffster, who had his installed and tuned at the same time, only made 3 whp more (his is MT and i am AT....meaing I actually produced more at the crank) and he has Craford headers, cats, cat back exhaust, plenum, etc.. From my review of dyno sheets, a complete air flow doesn't help that much. It does lessen the boost though. I may be wrong...but that has been my interpretation of this subject.

I see 10.5 psi at max RPM's. My sig tells my mods. My boost does not drop off at all.

UP...here is Neffster agreeing with me on a recent post over on Driver

http://www.g35driver.com/forums/showthread.php?t=66996

Let me put it this way. There are gains...but its minimal and I wasn't planning on spending any more money. But...knowing how hot I am running...its now become worth it and I'm gonna try and do this all before my retune on Friday.

Your gains will be greater due to the restriction of the exhaust system, NA vs. FI. ANYTHING will be better than what is on the car now.

Good luck w/ the install.

Jason, I thought I explained this to you on the phone. Even though your boost may go down according to your gauge you will be flowing more air. Your a/f will lean out slightly and your egt's will go down. You will make more power with the free flowing exhaust. Boost is a difference of potential meaning one side is pressing against the other. When you free up the flow on one side the difference goes down even though the flow is the same if not better. Give me a shout if you have any questions.

Alan. I thought I explained to you over the phone that your technical babble went over my head.

Relax guys. I understand the concepts you talk about....I am just relaying information I have learned through countless Vortech Dyno readings and Vortech posts on both Driver and My350z. Just seems that free-flowing exhausts don't bring the type of gains people intend. Of course I am doing it for a different reason (heat). And Alan...I don't want to get anymore lean as my a/f already tinkers with the 12:1 ratio. Hopefully all will be solved by Friday and I can happliy report good news.......
