Default APS TT vs ST

I have been taking a close look at the ST kit from APS (I have a 5AT mind you). If anyone can expain to me, they both make almost same torque and hp, but the torque peak comes up about 800-1000 rpm later? And I will be doing it in conjunction with the shorter final drive (higher RPM will keep the turbo spooled higher, no?)
Also, what is the factory boost setting for the ST?
And finally, if you are on a budget, does paying extra 2000-2500 $ justify the rise in performance (and going over 500 whp is not even considered)
Thank you for help.

IMHO if you're on a budget, and never plan on eclipsing the "HUGE" numbers, stick with the single turbo.

The extra money put towards and exhaust system, and maybe a higher flow plenum will make up the difference and provide for a very responsive ST setup. (I feel.)

As far as RPM = Boost, thats a SC setup... Load = Boost in a turbo... and to a lesser extent RPM.

I (PERSONALY) want a 3.3 rear... so if you ditch your ring gear... let me know... I want to shift LESS not more once you've got power.

Your rear, it is an open diff or the factory LSD? By Spring I will swap the stock rear for the one from the 6MT w/the quaife diff. I have the factory vLSD, this may be good for both of us...

As per yous sig....

I have a base open dif...

I just had them attempt to put the Quaife in today... But the bolt problem stopped them.

Sooooooo I have a '05 MT ring gear if you want to trade... =D In 5 weeks when I get the new bolts to install the Quaife !

Yeah, you got it right... You're the 1st person to mention my sig.

Pretty funny actually, I hope nobody takes it personal.

Oh, and as all us shitkickers know, it's "nucular", not "nuclear".

The determining factor is cost. Of course I'd rather have TT, but for my daily driver car I felt the ST hp and response was fine.

I got the APS ST kit with a plenum, strut bar, one step colder plugs, pillar pod, AEM afr gauge, boost gauge, EGT gauge, and everything needed to install, and I can get it installed for less than the price of the TT kit with nothing else!.

If I do end up installing my ST kit instead of selling it, I'll have ~$7400 in everything. The TT kit with all this stuff and installation would be almost $12k. To me it's not worth it to go TT unless you plan on building the motor and going all out later (and have about $20k laying around).

Beerz I really think you should install it, but let an authorized dealer do the work, that way there will be no problems, and if they are, at least they'll be covered.

Just go ST....its really all you need in this car and like beerz said...the price is right. Its a hard combo to beat. I have had mine for 2 months now and put 5k miles on it and runs absolutely perfect....

xxlbeerz - you need to go ahead and install that thing already..you won't regret it

As someone stated before, if you aren't going to build your motor for more power (say: 450+ RWHP), I would go with a single turbocharger kit. On the 350Z, the spooling characteristics between ST and TT are small. I'd get the APS ST.

Oleg, in you case, based on your description and statement of purpose, I would go with the single APS kit. I have one in stock, FYI.

Twins will have a higher output potential, if you move to a built motor. Since that is not something you intend to do, I feel a single would suit you best.
