I'm not sure I would want any fuel cut under full power. Maybe some ignition cutting or something, but fuel cutting is just dangerous.

It cuts more fuel then possible for combustion... So basically it is a misfire, not a lean condition... No detonation/pri-iggy

Lots of Supra people install it because for high boost applications it can react VERY quickly, and cuts power effectivly without using fuel cuts that cause a lean burn...

Fuel Cut

The idea of cutting fuel to an engine sets alarm bells ringing in engine builders, as they all know of the potential disaster of a high revving race engine running lean. Running in a lean combustion mode will elevate in-cylinder temperatures very rapidly, the denser the air/fuel charge, the more heat the lean burn can generate. Therefore it is vital that a fuel cut system will not cause a lean burn.

The simplest way of preventing a lean burn is to remove more than 50% of the fuel from the pulsed delivery.

yeah I think there needs to be a really tall final drive or a redone gearbox gearset for people with the huge power...

I'd buy a 3.0 rear in a heart beat... You'd be able to stay in gear longer, and use more of your TQ instead of having it spin off @ the wheels, or be wasted with time shifting...
All things being equal, taller gears are going to increase your 1/4 miles times. Granted, it might improve your launch, but an ideal setup is to maintain stock gearing, but work on your suspension, wheel and tire setup.

Depend on your goals...I think taller gearing would be nice for a street driven car...but personally, the current gearing will allows our cars to run to 185mph (RPM limited), and thats tall enough for me.

paul: i think with a large exhaust, a plenum upgrade, and a retune, you could be well up to 600whp even with your 100% stock heads.

Up the boost to 20 psi Gman and have it tuned on a 93 Octane fuel map.Get sum 1000CC injectors

I think either the APS or the crawford would cost effectively suit your needs just fine. Just be sure and get a retune... a MAP tuned car at 16 psi will go lean if you increase the VE with a larger exhaust and plenum. It will be safe to drive to a dyno or something, but you dont want to boost it until its retuned.

And to think I laughed when a local tuner told me the "supra guys" were running 700, 800whp and were begging him for more HP. How long before more of us Z guys are clamoring for the same?

Video is only 12 seconds long?

Thanks none-the-less. Did SGP fab that up?

And have a spare short block ready. You would be making close to 750whp at that boost level.

i can see guys getting 800whp and something like a 1.5-2.0 final drive where you can do something like 0-80 in 1st gear then people start wondering why they got a manual in the first place if they hardly ever shift their car.

You won't have to do that. Like I said in an early post, I am looking into a DTA standalone that has traction control, hell I am even considering the Motec. First I have to sell an investment property and see what my end of year bonus is like, cause there are other things I want first. Anyway, if I go full standalone with traction control it won't matter how high I go with whp cause I am going grip like a *****!
