What exhaust, test pipes, or cats are you running?

Bruce-
Rob was on the phone with me when you called him back Friday night. Sounds like you have a whole bunch of reasons(465) to be a happy guy!

Those are awesome numbers, Bruce! I can only imagine how your Z feels now. Heck, your Z is what got me started with this FI thing in the first place. Way to go.

Bruce-
It sounds like you were ready to break in the the 11s last week and just missed it. I hope you knock down a couple of really fast passes on the 5th. When you said it felt like it was running stronger, before Rob took it back to the dyno, how do you explain that?

It would just take of like a bat out of hell and spin the tires. When they looked at the program my tune went way lean til about 4k then it was normal. So somehow it must have changed. Its like the car has a mind of its own, some days it likes to be lazy and other times its just crazy. My car has a split personality for lack of better explanation.

You can see it doing that in the graph you posted, i comented on that earlier in the thread.

Are you running a reflash?

Hey Bruce, I actually turned the boost down to about 70% (100%=12psi), as it was picking up around an extra .5 psi peak due to the overall cooler weather lately. Also, mixing the gas as well, I noticed some batches made the Z feel stronger than others. Just keep an eye on your boost guage. Even when my Z was at 80% boost, i would sometimes see it spike close to 10psi on very cold nights. Fun stuff.

I had the same experience. Seemed to handle that power fine tho. which kinda made my decision to up the boost a lil easier. I try to use the same gas and mixture all the time as well.

Damn Bruce. I just saw this thread. I was out of town for the weekend. I guess I will have to go further into debt once you pass me. Of course my car doesn't make anywhere near the torque your car does. Looks like I will definitely be going with the 3.9 gears in the back to try and compensate.

My b!tch is still the dyno queen, but maybe not be for long...

I agree with you totally...My car is the same....some days it's scary fast.... and some days it doesn't feel as fast.....I'm guessing it has to do with the outside temp.....the cooler the denser the air ...the more hp you make....thats the only thing I can think of.... because all of the other reading are the same....

Bruce-
Do you, Lou, and Bigbri all go out to Infineon? Now THAT would be fun to watch!

I'm starting to look at what you guys have already done, and wondering when it will all stop? How high can I push my boost? Do I need bigger injectors? Which plenum should I buy? Is my exhaust to restrictive? I can't take the pressure! Stop the insanity!!!!!!

I don't think the three of us have ever been out there at the same time. I can't drag my car yet because my clutch won't hold up.

And the insanity never stops.

Bruce-
You're making such awesome power now, what's next? How much power can the JWT clutch handle? Are you considering a different plenum, even bigger injectors, and a larger diameter exhaust? That's kind of where I am at the moment
I hope Rob can get me the boost I need (emphasis on Need, not want), so I don't have to go to an external boost controller.

I can't say whats next but its coming. Just tell everyone to keep their kids out of the Street! ahhahahah

I think the JWT will be good for 5hundy and after that, I don't know...

Injectors, larger exhaust, will come after the surprise...

THey got Rico on your car and he is very passionate about getting problems resolved. He's gonna make your car make power.

October 5th, Infineon... the more the merrier. A lot of people are like damn does everyone FI their Z. The amount of Turbo'd or Zcd Z's at the track are growing. I wish we could get everyone out there one night. That would be sick, like 15 of us.

C'mon Bruce. You can tell us. We won't tell anybody. Okay, so which intake is it going to be? I already offerred to be Charles "West Coast test mule"....... Which intake did Kenny Sheppard install? Wasn't it the SSR or something like that?

On a side note: Does the boost control solenoid on the APS kit need to go into the trash can?
