I have had 0 problems with my kit and now have close to 7k hard miles. I believe it was one of the first ones on the road if not the first one. As soon as the turbo was installed I made the 1k trip back home and it ran perfect.

The car runs amazing and I feel like I can hang with just about any car out there now if not put them to shame. Anyways I have numerous kill stories posted on this site as well.......check 'em out sometime...

A few people have some great success stories with the kit, but there have been a lot of issues. Try doing a search.

Success stories = APS dealer install

Issues = Self install.

thanks for the response everyone! i really do appreciate it. i know that there is threads around here on the aps single, but the thread is so long and too many ppl talk about other things besides the thread on hand. i don't have time to read all of that stuff and need to get down to the nuts and bolts of the thread.

so far of what i read is that the aps single is pretty much fine and the only real issues are those who have done self install.

does anyone have any issues with the black smoke or sut with the aps, i heard there is some issue with the aps tt. please give me ur input.. thanks everyone!

No problem. The kits are still new so people are bound to have problems with the install. If you are having it professionally done then make sure its from a shop that has already done it. I can't stress how important that is albeit mine was the first one done by GRD in Chicago.....but they are very familiar with APS in general and have direct access to APS whenever they want pretty much. Thats the reason I drove 1k miles to have them install and tune it. Best move I ever made.

The APS TT kits do seem to have the smoking issues but its also mainly from those that have done the install themselves. Once again if this is the route you go, get it done at an authorized shop that has done it before. We don't exactly know the cause of the smoking yet....and whether its due to a bad install or not..(somehow I'm doubting that this is the case)

Anyways good luck with whatever kit you choose and if you have any other questions I'd be more than happy to answer them...

Whatever you do get it professionally installed.....I just got back this morning from my first oil change(3K miles) with my APS single turbo(GRD installed) and I could not be happier.
I second the statement that the car is "amazing"....transformed is the word I like to use.....0 issues.....running rich though , but I am prepared to do regular plug changes.....small price to pay for this much fun.....

to me nothing feels better than doing something yourself, especially if it saves me 1500 dollars.

I've had my aps tt now for 7k with zero problems no smoking or oil consumption. As far as black smoke or soot thats called running rich a simple tune can take care of that it's nothing to worry about. All fi kits are going to run richer than na. Remember richer is safer than lean = boom. Good luck with the kit you choose. Install is the key to any fi kit you get what you pay for.
