Default Cleaning greddy tt air filters. question

I'm sure most of you have probably had tot do this at some point. My question is what are you using to do so? K&N cleaning solution or just water. I'm not sure so I figured I would ask before attempting anything. Appreciate any replies.

If it is like a KN filter I would just buy the KN filter cleaner.

The foam they are made out of are similar to some moto-x style filters, and a lot of guys have used gasoline to clean their filters in the past. I'd do just water, but the thing that sucks is that wash it too much, or be too aggressive with it, and it will begin to break apart. The supra guys call the greddy and HKS filters "death Mushrooms" because they eventually wear down and break apart, and get injested into the motor. I don't know how pronounced this issue really is, but it can happen.

I was told I to wash it with just water and regular soap. I thought of buying new one's, but they run about $140... so I'll probably just wash them until the first sign of them falling apart.

I heard that too, so I had thought about doing some S&B Powerstack filters in the future...thanks for reminding me...

EDIT...here is a link to what I am looking at, just the 5" one at the top http://intenseperformance.com/produc...e_filters.html

you can purchase replacement elements for the Greddy filters. Should be available in yellow and blue, in small or large...
They don't cost much at all for just the elements

Cool cuz their practically black right now lol. I'll look them up and let anyone know how much they run.

Edit updated - GReddy told me they run for $18 each for the screening. They said just find a performance shop that carries them. Basically if your material is brittle when you start rinsing thats the indication that you need to replace.

The filters that come with the Greddy kit are called Airinx. Those are the original filters that come with the kit. I think its $140 a set, but don't quote me on that.

Yeah but thats the whole assembly for the actual mess like material its close to nothing. You wouldnt need any more than that to do the trick. Perf nissan has a good deal on them per Tony.
