Default Supercharge and blow off valve

I know Turbo uses blow off valve.

Anyone here knows what kind of 350z supercharge works with blow off valve?

Default SUPERCHARGE and BLOW OFF valve

A supercharged engine would not use a blow-off valve. With Supercharging the "blower" works off the engines crankshaft; the engines RPM drives the unit. Turbochargers work off the engines exhaust flow which is used to power the turbos. The blow-off valve is needed for a turbocharger because it helps to regulate the amount of pressure being sent to the unit.

lets take baby steps..
engine roar = VROOOOM
*shift* = self explanatory aka shift to the next gear
BOV sex on the beach sound = pssssh
so you add
engine roar + *shift* + BOV sex on the beach sound = hottness?
so
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooM *shift* psssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssh

The superchargers come with a "bypass" valve. The valve is designed to open up while under vacuum. This sends the compressed air back through the intake. You can vent this to the atmosphere but the sound is not like that of a turbo. The release is long and constant. I recently installed a TurboXS BOV on my car and had it vented to the atmosphere, it was very loud. The sound was like a huge blow dryer at idle, since it was dumping all of the air out. While under boost, the valve would close and quiet down. When you let off the throttle it gave off a long whoosh and then it stayed at the normal loudness at idle. It sounded very crappy, to say the least. So, I routed the discharge to the intake and the sound is now gone, for the most part. I do get a little more boost with the BOV compared to the cheap bypass valve. I was hitting 10.5 psi before, now I see 11.0 psi.

The only bad side to this is you are heating up the air more as its sent back through the intake.

Badmonkey...they are starting to pull my motor out today . We still on for the trade ?

The air is only going through the bypass while under vacuum. so, the hot compressed air is only going through while under a light load. It honestly sounds like crap with it going to the atmosphere. It is so loud, all the time. When I first started it up like that I thought something had come loose.

We are still on for the trade. I have got to get rid of the rasp.

Dan, I have a cs 350Z with a vortech mod, been running it for two years now without any problems. As you notice I live in West Seattle. If you'd like you you can check it out. PM me if you are interested. Nothing beats actually see and hearing it for youself.

ya i ran a bov vented atmoshperic on my ati too. sounded pretty awesome i thought. i had mine set with a bit of preload though. only a couple psi, but you would definately hear it when hammering through the gears!!
ya one reason i did it too was for the reason booger brought up. it would be ok to vent back to the intake from before the intercooler just cruising, but it didn't seem to good to take in a quick puff of hot air from the compressor between shifts when your driving hard.

I'm using a TiAL BOV on my ati.. sounds just like a TiAL BOV would on a turbo car if you are running quickly through the gears.... but like badmonkey says, there is a little extra hssssssssssssssss when the valve stays open unlike a turbo car... and because of the placement of my BOV, it stalls the car occasionally..
