Looking for a place to install greddy tt in so.cal area
I've set my mind on the greddy tt for my z. I'm just gonna leave it on stock boost level(i think it was 5-7 psi?) out of the box...will that be safe on stock engine without additional upgrades at the stock boost lvl??? I did some search and noticed that some ppl tried to tune it without the extra stuff needed to keep it safe and end up with blowing up their engine... I know that some ppl will tell me I'll want more power later on...but for now, Im going to keep it at stock boost lvl out of the box...and have fun with it...until I save up more money. anyway, where is a decent shop in so.cal area that can give me a good deal on the greddy tt kit and installation? I've found a place called super autobacs near Stanton area(http://www.autobacsusa.com/) that will sell me the greddy tt /w intercooler for about 6400+700 for labor(install+warranty) which seems like a ripoff cause I found a greddy tt /w intercooler on hopupracing for about 5700 I would also need some suggestions from you guys on which downpipe n y pipe will work with my rs-r catback exhaust + the greddy tt...it seems like ppl are getting whatever they want/think it will work with their setup...so I'm confused...I would really appreciate your help...thanks

With the Greddy system, you will need to add optional return fuel system, Walbro 255, shielded CAS, and a really good tune. Kit is unsafe without those items. Also $700 install is cheap, most are around $1500-2500 for install + tuning.

You should look into the APS TT kit if you are looking to just install it and leave it at stock boost. Brainstorm somewhere in LA, is an authorized APS dealer than can install and tune the APS kit. You're looking at about $7400 for the APS plus another $3000 for the install. After all is said and done if you buy all the extra parts for the greddy, boths kits will come out to about the same price. The difference is the APS comes complete out of the box.
On the other hand if you are have your heart set on the greddy contact Sharif at www.forgedinternals.com. He can get you a better price for the greddy as well as all the needed extras.

looks like it's going to cost a lot more than I expected...
I've done some more research on different turbo kits and I changed my mind to go with the turbonetics single turbo kit...(looking for 380~400whp)
but will I still need to find a shop that has a lot of experience with installing turbo kits? (I will be leaving it at stock boost lvl out of the box)
According to turbonetics, any qualified mechanic can do the install in about ~10hours. It seems quite difficult to find a shop that will do a turbo install for 700 bucks(warranty included) around my area...
anyway, thanks for your replies

StreetImage has done several FI installs on Z's and G's. Also check with GT Motorsports. Not sure if you'll find any shop that offers warranty on FI kits. Only one that offers engine warranty with FI are Stillen SC's, Stillen is located in So.Cal as well, its an optional $250 for engine warranty, I think.

thx for replies.
well I'm still leaning toward the greddy tt even tho I like the turbonetics too
how much rwhp can you put with the greddy tt on stock motor without pushing it...it is my daily ride. how much would it cost to install greddy tt at streetimage? looks like their site is down for maint. can I just install the greddy tt at that place I found(which is only 700 bucks for installation...) right out of the box at stock boost lvl(5 or 6psi?) without blowing my motor when I drive out of the shop....n take it to streetimage for tuning for safety?

Im gettin my G done on the 5th of NOV. at Street Image. Eric is a cool guy and the prices are amazing. 6400 is really high for the kit considering you could get it for like 5900 or less ANYWHERE. I'm doin the same thing as you....greddy TT, type RS bov, walbro 255, blitz TurboTimer/Boost Gauge and install, and the turbo installed....I'm also gonna get it tuned by them too....oh and im gonna add the timing harness....I just need sharif or someone to send me some directions . I alos have kinetix HF cats and crawford plenum and greddy EVO II on order. Street Image does at least 1 greddy TT kit a month so they know what they're doing. Not only that but they're one of very few shops (actually the only shop that i know of) that heat wraps EVERYTHING just to be safe. They also use different bolts kuz the greddy ones suck. I'm gettin my kit, parts, install for a reallyyyyyyyy good price and they are willing to price match parts if you get it installed from them. If you're serious about it then I would deffinately suggest going to them seeing as how a lot of their work right now is done on 350's and G's. Hope that helped. Oh yea if you give em a call tell em Anthony with the black G35 (soon to get greddy TT) sent you and talk to Eric.
edit: I'm looking for no less than 350 rwhp when It's all set and done. Eric said he recently finished a bone stock G or Z? that put down 350 rwhp.
edit AGAIN!: Eric and Roy both highly suggest you keep the stock greddy e-manage settings if your staying at stock boost and NOT dyno tune it. They say they've done plenty of cars this way and none have had any problems. One car is going on 2 years I think

It's good to know that you got a good deal on your kit from them. Are they heat wrapping all of your parts as well? May I ask how much all of your parts(not including cats, greddy evo, plenum)+labor is gonna cost?
