Won't I just foul the new plugs? What about the oil problem?

And actually #6 was 125 not 120....just looked at where I wrote it down.

Have you ran the car real hard then left it idling recently? Also with the new plugs installed drive it around normally and pull out plug #6.

The car has a turbo timer so it always idles before turning off. cylinder number 2, 4, and 6, had no oil and looked fine.

I would be good to determine if the cylinder is actually firing properly. The oil buildup can occur if the spark was so fouled that the cylinder wasnt even firing....a dead cylinder. If the problem persists after changing the plugs, then you can move onto the next step.

It's possible that the overheating damaging the valve step seals, causing the leak of oil into the combustion chamber.

I think you might have a systematicerror in your measurements. How are you doing the compression check, do you crank the engine for 10+ seconds until you no longer see a rise on teh compression gauge? Or are you doing it for a set few seconds?

Also, the gauge maybe miscalibrated.

I think that 120 is definitely on the low side. Going down from 10.3:1 stock CR to 9.3:1 CR decreased my compression from 185-190 to 170-175. I doubt that 8.5:1 should so non-linearly decrease into the 120's.

Sharif's suggestions are right on. But to get a definitive diagnosis on the cylinders, you will have to do a leakdown test, just my $0.02.

I was cranking for about 4 seconds. By this time the gauge would no longer rise. As far as the gauge it was brand new.

I will have leak down test performed on Monday.

OK... as long as you don't see a rise anymore, that's where you stop. 10 sec was aan arbitrary number.

Is there oil on the tip of the spark plug, the ceramic? If not, then it is most likely just a bad valve cover gasket. The second tiem I blew by engine (the forged one), the #3 was covered in oil (the part that is in the combuston chamber only), due to a hole on the side of the piston.

The oil was only on the end of the spark plug that goes into chamber. Also there was some oil on the tip of the coil.

so far all tests yielded good news. I also tested the coolant for carbon to see if the head gasket blew. That test showed a hint of carbon, but not enough to think the head gasket was gone. Let's see what happens with leak down test.

Thumbs down Motor #2 is officially Blown...yes it was forged!

Dropped the car off this morning for the leakdown test and the motor is officially BLOWN! Cylinder #1 had 22% leakdown and Cylinder #3 had 11%. We stopped there. I am making arrangements to ship the car to SGP to have it rebuilt and then the car will be sold! Lexus GS 300 here I come. *** this chit!

Damn Jorge, that really sucks! I feel your pain. Any idea what caused it to blow this time?

Did they do the leakdown with the motor warm or cold? If it was cold, 11% is not that high, and 22% is more than you would like to see, but not cazy high. With an aluminum block, there is a lot of expansion with heat, so a leakdown performed on a warm vs cold motor can have huge affects on the #s.
