Default Turbonetics ST and Jet-Hot Coat???

My TN kit was just shipped and will be here on Thursday. I would like to get the exhaust piping of the kit Jet-Hot 2000 Coated. Also can you coat the exhaust side of a turbo, and would that be a good idea? Any info would be great.

Yes you could but it involves dis-assembling the turbo and if you are not familiar with it I would shy away from that. Besides Turbonetics aleady provides a heat shield for the turbo to keep the heat down so honestly doing just the pipes is probably enough.

I don't want to touch the turbo and mess it up. Ok so I'll just get the pipes done. Has anyone done this yet? Also are there local people that do this or do I have to send it in to Jet-Hot the Co. Thanks for the reply.

Typically you can find a shop locally who can do it but if not Jet hot or Swain can do this kind of coating...And yes taurran jet hot coated his stock headers and several have header wrapped the pipes/.

Thats the intake pipes and yeah they are powder coated black chrome. He is talking about JetHot2000 coating his exhuast pipes. It is basically a heat retaining coating that keeps temps down under the hood and keeps the heat in the pipes. The coating should also help with spool up a little.

No you have to disassemble the turbo yourself or have a shop do it. Jet hot won't do that for you..

how hard is it to disassemble turbos or SC's to send off to be jethot coated? Is that something your average lay person can do?

would you guys get all the piping jethot coated? I'm going with the vortech kit if that makes any difference

I would honestly tell you that if you have never taken apart a turbo its not something I recommend you do unless you can get your hands on a junker one to take apart first..

I just got a email back from Jet-Hot. They said it is $20-25 per foot to get the Jet-Hot 2000. Also to do the turbo you have to disassemble it before you send it in. The turbo was going to be $110.00 for the Jet-hot 2000 finish. They said it would take 7 days + shipping for the work. I am going to just send the exhaust parts of the kit to get done.

Sounds about right...I think they were charging $175 for a set of headers so it should be aroud there for just the piping.
