Default Calling All Greddy TT Owners

Please post if you have or had a Greddy kit, if your running strong or if your engine blew. Also post what you learned along the way with this kit and if your engine is stock or build.

Thanks!

I have a greddy kit, custom test pipes and exhaust, upgraded clutch, HKS Fcon Vpro. My kit runs fine. It was tuned perfect. Alot of people talk bad about greddy, only think the greddy lacks is a fuel return system, other than that. Its a really good kit

I have had it for almost 1 1/2 years and 17k miles with various use, in others words not babied, currently running 8.5 psi on stock motor and only added fuel pump, need fuel return to go higher. As long as you have a good tune and address timing, and a good install, all works out fine, it is just not the simple bolt on out of the box package like the APS is you need to really educate yourself on the kit and FI in general.

I've have had the Greddy kit for 8 months now. I had a few minor issues with the car, but nothing was related to the Greddy kit. The car is running very strong, and I have put about 6 or 7K miles on it with the kit. I beat the car more than I baby it. To list everything I learned since I got the kit, would be way too much, but IMHO if you don't know much about FI or are not willing to learn it then the Greddy TT kit is not for you (I'm not saying that you don't know or are not willing to learn, I'm just speaking in general). I would recommend the Greddy kit only to people who know what they're getting into and know what they're doing when going FI, in fact I would suggest that about any FI kit, but especially the Greddy, because it doesn't come with all the neccessary parts you need to run too much more boost than what it comes standard at.

We had a Greddy kit, got rid of it. I am sure there is alot of great operating Greddy systems out there, but IMO, WAY to many cons than pros.
IMHO, I'd MUCH rather have allmost any other TT kit. Just my 2 cents.

I might be able to get a Greddy TT and you always here stories about blowing but you also see some monster power put out by this kit.

All and any information would be nice.

Curious as to what you have against the Greddy kit so much (other than the obvious no timing control and pesky w/g bolts).

I have had my greddy kit for 10 months and about 16500 miles and just recently got it tuned to 424rwhp at just under 8psi and I couldn't be any happier (well I do wish I had some wheels ) No problems so far except a w/g leak and a hole in my power steering line, but nothing major.

Nothing personal against Greddy at all, Just their VQ TT kit. I like Greddy as a company, great stuff. I just think thier kit leaves alot to be desired, most of which you have already mentioned. (hardware issues, cheap old style non-ballbearing turbo selection, timing control issues, fittment issues, and the ever so, seemingly "rushed to get it into production" style of the kit. I am sure YOURs and alot of others do perform just fine. Compared to the other kits available IMHO, it is just not at all my TT kit of choice, AT ALL.

Please keep this post on topic and not about any other kits(you know who you are). I have 2,000 miles on my built motor and IMHO the greddy it great for a built motor application but there are better kits on the market if you want just a bolt-on application. With my ceramic coated manifonlds, turbo hot sides, downpipes and testpipes the lag is minimal. The turbos in the Greddy kit are great for our application at the 10-16psi range. Unless you really want to tinker with your setup it is not the kit for you. I could not possibly tell you all the little "tricks" that you need to know using this kit.

I think the Greddy kit is great.

This kit is for people who want to choose they're own things like:

fuel return system, bov, tuning and the rest...

The other kits include most of them (good thing) but you can't built it exactly how you want it.

I have my Greddy kit on for about 5-6 months and it's been nothing but fun.

Just my .02 cents

I wish I had a brother that had an FI Z/G that I could borrow. I wouldn't have to drop all my cash on mine.

Been running a greddy kit with fully built motor, fuel return , fuel pump upgrade , bov , jet hot coating, and profec e01 for about a month now. The only thing I dont like about the kit is the e manage ( seems real sketchy ). As soon as utec comes out its going on ! Thats the only thing i would use out of this kit is the e manage.

My motor is currently at the machine shop. I'm getting wisco pistons and crower rods. The shop I have chosen has never done a full set-up on a 350Z. I have been Reading the F/I threads religiously for the last few weeks and I'm extremely nervous now! I don't know anything about cars. My main concern is the proper tuning of my 350Z. The shop I am using has never installed the emanage ultimate, and they do not have a dyno! Should I have them install everything and then take it somewhere else to tune?

Do most of you think that this kit should not be for someone who want to bolt on and play and not play around with the kit as much?????

It is not so much as "playing around" is just knowing what it has and doesn't have and also understand the limitations of it until you add what is needed if you want to go higher in boost. If the buyer has no clue about tuning or AF ratios or timing and wants to drive the car like it was manufactured with the turbo kit then the Greddy is not for them, they will have to completely rely on the seller/installer where as kits like the APS and others are simpler and come ready to go at the higher boosts already.

I would find another shop to do all the work. They don't even have a dyno.
