Default Turbo Install/Tune in GA?

Anyone here have a turbo tune (preferably Turbonetics ST) done in GA? I want to get an estimate cost for an install and/or tuning to see if I should just install at home.

Give CP-Racing a call in Charlotte (only a ~3hr drive from Atlanta).

As an alternative to what 002-M-P posted you may wanna give Batlground Engineering (770-319-9605) or Anderson Audio and Performance (770-923-5703) call.

you cant tune the turbonetics kit unless you go with a piggyback system like the greddy emanage. install should be around 1200 dollars, but i would say just do it at home if you have some mechanical knowledge. I did it in 18hrs with lots of tools and beer. (just keep alot of swivel sockets close at hand)

Yep.

But honestly, Sharif@Forged and Carolina Performance Racing would be the place I would let install and tune...

Because I would suggest that you get the Tuner Version of the Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit (which you can get from Sharif@Forged), then also get 440cc injectors, Walboro 255 fuel pump, and like either the TurboXS UTEC or the Greddy E-Manage Ultimate for the Engine/Fuel management all from him. And if you are up for it, Return Fuel System.

Did you drive the car around untuned after you finished install? I thought that tuning was a must with turbo on the vq35.

Yeah, I was thinking about doing that as well, since he is in North Carolina. What would be the main purpose of the fuel return system?

safer, easier to tune for higher power levels.

+1......lots of satisfied customers, just search the boards, and lots of experience. If you want to minimize the "risk" of going FI, make sure you get a good install and great tune.

I called CP today and they were very helpful in answering any questions that I had. They also quoted me a pretty good price. Now as for the quote for a rebuild, turbo, and tuning. WOW They said something around 22k! I didn't know it was THAT pricey. As for tuning, I think I'll definitely go to them as they've done numerous ST and TT kits for the VQ35.

That price would be my guess based upon what I've spent just on the turbo, install and tuning. When you add parts and labor for the rebuild it gets pricey.

I didn't have my car back long enough to perhaps get used to 400whp, but it certainly makes a BIG difference. Maybe when I get used to the new power I'll consider a rebuild.

Glad they were helpful and good luck!

Yep considering on just "power" mods I am in the 15K range, small loan and two credit cards

You see he meant if you got the Standered Turbonetics Single Turbo Kit that you would get your ECU Re-Flashed so you cannot tune it. If you get the Tuner Version of the Turbonetics Kit which you can get from Sharif@Forged then you can pick up a Engine/Fuel Management system that will allow you and others to tune.

Shop with tons of experience and feedback with successful results (Sharif and CPR)... Or a shop with a not so great feedback along with lack of experience with the 350Z. Now seems they bank on the 300zx, but in our state... The usual suspects are more often dealt with and understood = Civic's, Integra's, RSX's, SI's, WRX's, STI's, EVO's, etc... Z is still underdeveloped here.
