I never did get a dyno read out . But it feels like I have 50whp more thru the hole rpm range . I wasnt tuned to get the most out of it either . Motor is out and back at SGP to re-do the block . Dropping compression to 8.5 to 1 and going to CP pistons . Upgrading the intercooler , getting the valvebody done [ sent that to SGP today ] getting rid of the cats . This coming spring , I'll add a new engine managment [ UTEC is top choice right now ] Hope to get at least 16psi out of it . WIll put two tunes in it , 92 pump and race gas tunes .

why dont u try a new belt. I remember reading your old post about how u didnt get any noise before and now afer a few months the rattle has increased. I say try that and see what happens. also, if u do change belts u should compare the 2 belts and see how much it stretched.

c

His belt is two month old. I think it is pretty safe to assume, by how many peoploe have posted about this same noise, that it is normal with the vortech.

And I have the Gates belt. And Neff tightened it after the break in period. It should be fine but who knows...maybe I'll tinker with that belt and see what happens. Can't get much worse.

Jorge....while everyone has the noise...i think mine is louder than most as what I have should be intolerable to most enthusiasts.

it's because of my tilton clutch noise though - was driving me nuts at idle and the raised idle makes it easier to drive as well as killing the noise. I'm switching to the ATS clutch and vortech and think I'll let the idle stay where it is.

Sorry to hear about the noise bugging you though. Maybe a different belt would help? dunno
Just wondering dude are you keeping the 3.9 FD when you get the Vortech? If I remember correctly I was reading a long time ago about how the 3.9FD is not good with FI Kits (well specifically with turbos because of the torque) but would it work fine with a SC as the torque numbers are lower?

I have a Gates belt for the 3.33 pulley I am trying to sell for $20 shipped. It has been on the car for about 1500-2000 miles. I bought mine from O'reilly Auto Parts for around $45 with tax. You can either buy it from a local auto parts store or buy mine!!!

K060930 is the part number for the Gates belt that fits the 3.33 pulley. I believe it is like 93" in length but I could be mistaken.

Mine was pretty loud. People used to ask all the time, "what's wrong with your car?" "What's that noise?" "You should have that thing check out, that don't sound right."

Exactly! It's kinda embarrassing. I have put too much money into the car for it to sound like that.

is there anything wrong to have the car idle at 1500? Or, u can save your money and install a tq converter and that should also raise your idle to around 2000 and help u with launch at the same time.

Nah. Gotta go to Jacksonville this weekend. Plus...i dont want to track this thing until I get the exhuast/plenum spacer/retune done. My EGT's run kinda hot so I'm hoping that helps.
