Have a slight problem. Today i popped open my hood, and there was a strand of belt hanging on my motor. After closer inspection, i found out it was the serpentine belt, and that one rib had basically ripped off. Now i dont know how this happened? Was it because i tightened it to much? A few days after i installed the procharger, I had belt squeal, and so i tightened it by about 180 degree turn. The belt squeal went away, but came back about a week later. So when I went to re-tighten the belt, i saw there was strands laying around? I believe it squealed again because one of the ribs is missing, but i dunno what the cause of this is. Anyone have a clue, thanks.

 

Could it have anything to do with the adjustments on it???

 

when it was loose , it may have jumped off one of the pulleys [ one rib ] and finally tore it off .

 

yes or heated up to much from slipping and delaminated a little

 

well i think im jst gonna buy another belt and hope this one will work for me.
