Default bumping idle in Miami....

I have the vortech, and I want to bump the idle to about 900-1000 rpms to rid of the notorious small rattle. My car is an 03 so I know it can be done, but my dealer (I f**king hate Nissan dealers btw ) won't touch the idle.

I know some people have gotten it done at the dealer after cams, ect..

Does anyone know a dealer in South Florida that will do it? Or does anyone with the Consult II in South Florida want to help a fellow Z member out? lol

On a side note- I plan on upgrading from the stock 3.33 to the 3.12 pulley soon. With the smaller pulley, the supercharger will spin faster at idle. Will the increased rpms of the supercharger with the smaller pulley get rid of the rattle at idle, or do you think the increase in speed will be too small and I should still bump the idle?

thanx

The dealer can do whatever Nissan will allow them to do. The scanner is an awesome tool that can control alot of things and change factory settings in small incriments to acheive what is needed to keep the car running healthy under factory conditions.

Of course, the dealer can deny any type of service to any kind of person for whatever reason they see fit. If the car does not need the idle bumped because of normal wear and tear they may not do it for you [just being asses of course]. They have the ability to adjust idle, relearn the idle, adjusting timing, suspension stiffness, how hot the heater blows, and dozens of other things... all with limits from Nissan. I own a G35 Coupe and was able to get a few of the above mentioned things done to the car... but when I wanted the rev limit raised they were not able to do it, while you'd think it would be easy enough since you are playing with the sme computer Nissan will not let you access it through the scanners they allow the dealerships to have.

Just keep trying dealers, try different advisors, managers, and shop foremans until you find the one that has the same underlying hobby you do.
